Blank Book On Sex - A Surprise Bestseller on Amazon.com.

Hola!

If you have missed this you need to know. Nothing personal about this, I am not saying all that but would love to share this with my readers. I appreciate whatever interesting I read and this is definitely going to interest many of you. Those who know about this – ‘good for you’ and those who missed, just read it!

I am not sure this post should fall under which ‘label’ but I feel it would be good to put it under ‘From My Library’. The idea to put this under this label is just a simple thought; I want to get this for my home libraryJ
I have read about this and I am putting my efforts on this blog for my readers-
Sheridan Simove's ‘What Every Man Thinks About Apart From Sex’ has become a surprise bestseller on Amazon.com.
The book has hit number 744 on the Amazon list, ahead of Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code (number 2,910) and JK Rowling's Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix (2,406).
It is also picking up as a novelty gift among amused uni students in the UK who are flocking to grab a copy of the $7.95 paperback.

A student from Nottingham University says she picked up the copy for her friend.
"I bought a copy for my mate as a joke and he started using it as a note pad for lectures. Now everyone seems to have one. It's started a real craze on campus".
The book’s 'author' says he never expected his work to become a bestseller.
"When the book was published I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I would outsell Harry Potter. But Britain's students seem to think my book is magic and who am I to argue?" Simove has been quoted as saying by news reports.
An Oxford University psychology graduate, 39-year-old Simove says his next research project is a PhD on the subject of what women think apart from sex.

"I hope to publish my findings in another decade," he jokes.
From Archana to Readers –
I am not sure how people have reacted to this book but I am sure we all can connect to it. Though both men and women have a different approach to the subject of sex but the fact remains that both THINK ABOUT IT....So Simove has to publish his next findings to do complete justice to both the genders. But please do not leave it blank this time. Until then, think if you need this notepad for your library....But I am sure Deepika Padukone needs one as she keeps complaining about her ex and her desire to gift her ex – a packet of ??????...Rest the whole India
knows....Thanks to Coffee with Karan

We Are Getting The Cup!!!

I am tired but still feel to post this before hitting the sack!
Hurray!!!!!!!!!
We head to the FinalsJ
When I posted on 24th March – CheerFor India, my friend said ‘you are over confident’. But I believe that ‘Nothingis IMPOSSIBLE’.  I told him we will get the cup – my sixth sense triggers that!
Since morning, I did not post anything as I wanted us to WIN. I will say that India did not played well but maybe Pakistan played little much worse than India. No worries as we say ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander’ and for today we are ‘Sikander’.
I was never so excited even when my board results were to be declared, as I was during the last ten overs of the mother of all matches. Finally, India heads to get the cup. I will not cheer for India but wait to welcome the team with the cup that we are missing since 1983, when I was just 3J
I am so happy that we will be playing the FINALS but we cannot underestimate Sri lanka as well. But if we can beat Australia and Pakistan then we can also show exit gates to Sri lanka.

Let us wait for 2nd April when our team gets the cup for us!

Cheerio for nowJ

Cheer for India!

Nothing is impossible. Even the word impossible says ‘I M POSSIBLE’. Surprised!!

Well, this is for India. Match has just started.....
I have cancelled all scheduled sessions to catch up today’s match. I just pray India wins this match and proves that ‘IMPOSSIBLE IS – I M POSSIBLE’
Following the performances of both the teams, Australia is definitely on the stronger side. But if they can lose after 33 wins, they can lose to India as wellJ
Cricket is a game of chance though this is untrue in case of Australia. Like many others, I am keeping my fingers crossedJ
Let us hear it for India this time......INDIA ...INDIA...INDIA

Its Interesting To Coach Him...

Things are going greatJ
My second story on some other website is also published. I have posted the link on my FB profile. I am happy that it was approved by the editor. I never thought that people would read what I write. I am glad they read!
I need to breatheJ
It has been so tiring for the last two days.
As I posted on my FB account that I am very excited for my first male client. Yes, a 33 year old Telugu client settled in US and wants to learn swimming to accompany his American girlfriend for snorkeling to Agatti Islands, Port Blair and finally Maldives. He was looking for someone who has been into swimming mainly in the sea. The day he approached me, I was in a dilemma. Of course, I have never trained a man and never thought of it. I restrict myself to women and kids. I have been approached by men earlier as well but I think it never clicked me judging their personalities or you can make it outJ

I asked my husband and he was like “Go ahead and just do it for yourself”. He was more excited than meJ

Though I did not meet this client in person until the first session but there was one thing I liked about him. His commitment to his girlfriend and he wants to learn something for her. I said ‘Yes’ without meeting him in person.
It has been a learning experience for me as well. Men have a completely different approach to learn anything new. I find them more calm, innovative and experimental. In two days, he has been able to swim freestyle, though his legs and hands still need to be synchronized. He has been calm in listening to me and very innovative as well.
I am glad to coach him. I am out of that mental block of not coaching men. It gives me an opportunity to judge my stamina and strength as well. But I am very tired with all these commitments. The best moment for me is to look at the picture of my daughter, I FEEL RELAXED.
If your trainee shows results you feel driven to train him or her. Thanks to all FB readers particularly men who showed the ‘Like’ thumbs up.
I guess we have 5 or 6 more sessions and then I am little free to write more on my blog.
But there is a message to all here – try new things, we might fail but if you fail to try then only you are a failure.
I am very happy as I am able to prove what I quoted on my FB ‘About Me’ section –

“A weak woman talks her heart out; A strong woman walks over the tough journey of life”.
Keep moving...Take Up new challenges and love yourself. And yes I am almost done with my post around Aruna’s plea. I will post it soon. If you get a chance read my second story on the new website.

Is ARCHANA back?

My real life incident as a story is published on a website. Here are the links. Follow as –

or
http://www.talesofkindness.com/2011/03/whose-battle-his-or-mine/

I feel to cry. Definitely, out of happiness not sorrow. I am so thankful to arthritis, it changed me into something that I never thought of. It is strange, I had quit my job on 11th March 2008 and since that day somewhere my life was moving but something was missing. Working for so many years and then all of a sudden you confine to a place, you definitely miss a spark.

But I had no choice as my medical condition was not very great. I might look great in my pics but those who know me and have seen me on bad days will definitely relate to this post. I started this blog since November 2010 and it is the best thing that happened to me.
But after 3 years and 3 days that is today...I am so happy as my real life incident story is published on one of the inspirational websites. Though I also write for ‘HealthCentral.com/osteoarthritis’ that is a website that needs input from people suffering from osteoarthritis but that is just for people like me – our lifestyles, our questions etc.
I feel I am not junk. Though still the best job is a homemaker one...as my father says “a home for a woman is a castle big or small does not matter, whether you are paid or not does not matter, you are the queen of the castle and that should matter...:)...Thanks Paa...Thanks Amit!
Thanks all my readers/friends... most important my daughter – sanjana..Thanks to my editor as well.
But one thing that I always felt is ‘Archana’ was being lost somewhere. Some started calling me ‘Kapoor’s daughter’ and others ‘Mrs Nagpal’. Both the titles are my pride and prestige but still my identity is Archana. I have struggled and fought depression, pain, anger and frustration all these months to reach here. Where this story inspires many who will read, it will leave me with an inspiration and smile – Archana is finally BACK!!!
To all those arthritis patients....dont stop living. We have to make a difference to prove we are not junk or wasted. We are born lucky and blessed. WE WILL MOVE ON WITH PAIN BUT WITH COURAGE!
Love yourself!

All the World's a Stage

All the world's a stage,

And all the men and women merely players;

They have their exits and their entrances,

And one man in his time plays many parts,

His acts being seven ages. At first, the infant,

Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms.

Then the whining schoolboy, with his satchel

And shining morning face, creeping like snail

Unwillingly to school. And then the lover,

Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad

Made to his mistress' eyebrow. Then a soldier,

Full of strange oaths and bearded like the pard,

Jealous in honor, sudden and quick in quarrel,

Seeking the bubble reputation

Even in the cannon's mouth. And then the justice,

In fair round belly with good capon lined,

With eyes severe and beard of formal cut,

Full of wise saws and modern instances;

And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts

Into the lean and slippered pantaloon,

With spectacles on nose and pouch on side;

His youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide

For his shrunk shank, and his big manly voice,

Turning again toward childish treble, pipes

And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all,

That ends this strange eventful history,

Is second childishness and mere oblivion,

Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.

Try My Technique - Plant A Thought

Today, I thought I would pamper myself. What a better option than a good aroma massageJ

As I lift heavy weights so I can really feel a difference after a pampered session. I feel so fresh and rejuvenated. I feel connected to my inner self and I like the temporary glow. If you are tired and you feel fatigue then you must take a massage this weekend. Spend some time with yourself and for yourself other than same old gold routine. We all know it is no more goldJ.

But we have to be in routine to make things happen in life.
I have beenso many times told to meditate to feel connected to my soul. I will not deny, I would love to, indeed I downloaded nature music as well. I tried to sit at a corner in linen attire and oncentrate. The nature music and chanting mantras definitely creates a good environment. I make sure to switch off my cell and just concentrate on my breathing pattern. You can try this also to rejuvenate yourself. Faster, cheaper and easier way to feel rejuvenated. If you are
mentally relaxed you feel physically better and fresh.

BUT the best part is I cannot do this as the moment I concentrate I think of all the nasty thoughts...what about shopping this weekend, I need a aqua nail paint or may be a yellow slippers (quite in fashion these days), wow..shahid kapur as a fighter pilot flying F-16 in his next movie ‘Mausam’ or lets go for a haircut J. Trust me within two minutes my mind is torn between all such wonderful thoughts and I get up and think ‘leave it..I feel bored’.
I follow a different pattern to meditate. For me meditation is to be with you and yoursurroundings. I cannot understand the concept of cutting yourself from the surrounding and connecting to your inner soul as after that concentration you have to come back to the same surroundingJ.
I prefer to connect my inner soul to the surrounding by being closer to nature. I started following this ‘Plant A Thought’ technique to meditate almost three months back post my foot surgery. The days I want to feel at peace and just be myself...I drive to a park or a garden (mostly KBR....it is my favourite) and walk. I love to tuck my pedometer and my ipod caters to my need of listening to mantras or Buddhist chants. Generally, I go either early mornings or around sunset. The view of rising sun is a great experience to rejuvenate your mind and soul. Sun gives us energy and strength to feel stronger and be a warm person. Now what is ‘Plant A Thought’ technique?
To be at peace and connected to your inner self you need to purify your thoughts and mind. It means to get rid of miserable and bad thoughts. Thoughts of people who have troubled you or hurt you in life, thoughts around your bad days at office or with your manager, thoughts around your never improving bad health.
The best way is whatever you feel on a specific day write it on a piece of paper. Dig the ground and put the paper alongwith a seedling of any plant. Make sure you cover it and water it. Now you can find water facility at KBR or any gardenJ.
The best thing is you feel very much better as you will get rid of the thought by doing something good to the nature and surrounding. And yes you have not disconnected yourself from the surrounding. Indeed, you helped in making it better. That is the basic idea for me to meditate.
You will not remember where you sow the plant with a thought and with time rather than a bad thought grows, a green plant will grow that will add to the tagline ‘GO GREEN..’
So if you are like me and cannot meditate sitting at a corner than you have an option ‘Plant A Thought’.

It needs time from your daily routine but then as always say nothing more important than yourself....Keep loving yourselfJ

Tough Time For Japan

The tough time for Japan isnothing new for the struggling country. History of Japan has been history of losses and recovery. Decades back when this country lost hundreds of people, they did not lose hope. They came up with and as one of the best technologically advanced country. Where we are struggling with 3G, US launched it and Japan is done with 4G. They proved to the world – “Good Things come in small but STRONG packages”.

They worked on their country as one and brought Japan to what we saw in recent years on account of hard work. But two days back nature has shocked the whole world and Japan has again come to another journey of struggle against nature. The fear of loss of thousands of people and innovation of more techniques to deal with this is a major challenge for this country.
I am sure that like decades back this time also Japan would come back with a bang. They will secure their position and country.
Let us pray for Japan and learn from every Japanese how to cope with struggling time. I always end with ‘Love Yourself’. But today, I would just end with a note ‘Pray for Japan’. Pray for humanity and peace.

Special Message on Women’s Day

In continuation to my last post - http://doyouthinkyouareliving.blogspot.com/2011/03/i-am-proud-to-be-woman-happy-womens-day.html. But a special thanks to some of the best men I met as they have been a very vital and indispensable to my journey of being a woman. I am very proud to have you in my life:)

I wanted to write about Euthanasia Plea for Aruna but I prefer to write it tomorrow as this might not be the right day and time to discuss this sensitive issue. But I am sad about the entire thing. Being a woman on our day (Women’s Day), I find myself very helpless. I feel exasperated.

I read a poem (as below) and I am very happy to share this on women’s day. I am very sure I would prefer to be women of strength as many think me that way....but what would you like to be a ‘strong woman’ or a ‘woman of strength’.

But before you read this, I really want to share a small thought. My mother could never afford diamonds for us. And when I asked one day she said something that touched me and till date I never had any craving for diamonds. Though, I have many now but they are just anything for me not everything.

She said “DIAMOND is NOTHING but a piece of CARBON that can handle pressures very hard. The real diamond is being a woman of substance that can handle hard pressures of life. You do not have to wear a diamond and flaunt but be yourself like a diamond that others can flaunt their bonding with you. Search for that DIAMOND IN YOU not DIAMOND ON YOU. Diamonds were and are never the best friend of a woman. If so then why do woman wearing diamond look for friends outside? Your real friends are your traits like courage, inner beauty, clarity, sacrifice, self-dependence and much above character.”

I love my mother for this thought and I am proud that I am your daughter. I salute you today as a woman of substance (though I fight a lot with you...you know me)J. I salute you as a mother who quit her job to bring up me. I salute you as a wife who never demanded anything but sacrificed. You are the best women I met in this lifetime.

I dedicate the poem below to all my women readers and HAVE A ROCKING WOMEN’S DAY. Go ahead and wish that one special women of strength with this poem. But do read the post that I will write for Aruna...soon.

A strong woman works out every day to keep her body in shape ...
but a woman of strength kneels in prayer to keep her soul in shape...

A strong woman isn't afraid of anything ...
but a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of her fear...
A strong woman won't let anyone get the best of her ...
but a woman of strength gives the best of her to everyone...
A strong woman makes mistakes and avoids the same in the future...
a woman of strength realizes life's mistakes can also be God's blessings and capitalizes on them...
A strong woman walks sure footedly ...
but a woman of strength knows God will catch her when she falls...
A strong woman wears the look of confidence on her face ...
but a woman of strength wears grace...
A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey ...
but a woman of strength has faith that it is in the journey that she will become strong...

I AM PROUD TO BE A WOMAN - HAPPY WOMEN'S DAY!!!

Happy Women’s Day and just follow few things as I share about myself. I am sure whenever we do something we prove a trait that God gave us as a woman. If I am asked someday whether I would like
to be reborn as woman? Without a single thought I would loudly and proudly say ‘YES...NO DOUBTS”. I have an interesting journey like many other women but somewhat unlike many other women. I share few quick points of my journey that might be helpful to some of my women readers and if you are in the same situation today as I was years/months/days back then read the following.

I was the second girl child and trust me 30 years back it was not a very comfortable idea for my grandparents. My parents were happy but my grandparents were definitely not. We lived in a joint family and so my brother siblings and my real sister were happily accepted but I was not. Then came a day after 18 years of ignorance, when my father’s dad slipped and broke his ankle there was nobody to take him to the doctor. My brothers were busy in their worlds. I took him and since that day I became the apple of their eyes. On his death bed he whispered “Archu beta – I am sorry for what I did”. I miss him today a lot. I realised one thing about being a women – you can change the world around you with your behaviour. You have the capability to earn love with your caring attitude.
My family is not open to the idea to learn dance particularly ‘Kathak’. They have their own reasons and I never accepted those reasons. ‘Kathak’ was and is my life. In 1998, my dad came to know that I go for Kathak classes after my college. Yes, I used to lie as telling the truth meant a big ‘NO’. I tried convincing him but always failed so I thought not to tell and hide it from everyone. But it did not worked for a long time as I used to get late and one day my gungroos were traced in my bag. I was told to quit it or was given an option if I continue I had to fund my entire education fee which meant – university fees, NIIT fees and other expenses. I took it as a challenge and for 4 years I worked as a home tutor post my college and Kathak classes. Where my friends used to watch movies and hang out, I used to travel at different places to lend sessions and gather funds for my education. I funded my graduation, NIIT Certification and MBA. I am very proud that I also could get certification in Kathak. A woman has the capacity of multitasking and she can make her dreams come true with her courage and clarity of objectives in life. If you are still thinking you want to make your dreams come true then GO AND JUST DO IT!!!
I have no real brother so I wanted to retain my maiden name ‘Kapoor’. I just do not understand that when I lived with an identity of ‘Archana Kapoor’ for 26 years, how can I let it go so easily? It might not make a difference to the world but yes a lot to me. Others might not bother but to connect to my achievements (like certificates, medals that are on the name of ‘Archana Kapoor’), I have to keep my name as ‘Archana Kapoor Nagpal’. I am lucky my partner supported me BUT just like many of my friends who are going through the same journey now his family was not comfortable. I struggled for 2 years to convince them and my passport was not made just for a reason that why ‘Kapoor’. Looking at the love of his family for me, I thought to take off ‘Kapoor’ from my name. What is bigger than happiness of my people? If removing ‘Kapoor’ gives my family happiness, I will remove. But by that time PAN CARD was issued and my professional records at the firm were fixed so it was hard to take off ‘Kapoor’. I guess GOD also wanted my wish to be fulfilled. When his family came to know that I was ready but things are not favourable, they happily allowed me to keep it the way I want. One more learning – A woman has a sacrificing nature that is like a key to her all hurdles. When we can do things without confrontation then only we enjoy the sweetness of our wishes.
I am very proud to address myself as a sponsored mother. I am more proud that my partner stood with me in this. Although, my and his family are not in the favour of this act of sponsorship. They have never asked us how is our daughter?J
No regrets as I respect their opinions and being a woman we have one more trait – live your life on your terms. If you think what you did gives you the power to face yourself into the mirror, then you are on the right way. Many friends have said there is a difference when your biological child cries and when a sponsored/adopted. For biological you will leave everything around but for the latter you can be little ignorant. This is not true. A woman is a mother by feeling not by physiology. The day I came to know my daughter was tested for HIV as a protective measure, I CRIED. And I asked GOD the results should be negative. So many women on FB has opted ‘Mother Teresa’ as ‘Who inspires you’. Then think she was a mother in the real sense - Mother by feelings not by biology. To all the women how often you followed ‘Mother Teresa’. Other than charity organised through corporate, did you ever spend some time at an orphanage or a NGO. Think!!!
Another trait of woman – Be a mother by feelings first then by biology!!!
I salute all such women who support this cause.
It is only a woman who can surrender her desires and needs at different stages of her life in different
relationships. When I quit my job, I was unhappy. But today when I am able to give time to my home, I feel like queen. I worked for 8 years and was well paid but the satisfaction, I get working for my home is much above that. My increments and titles like ‘Queen of Foreign Languages’ during my professional tenure are too small when my people appreciate me for good food and well decorated home. Another trait of woman – she excels in every field as she has deep satisfaction within herself.
A special salute to all homemakers, you really make house a home.
Have a special women’s day. BE PROUD TO BE A WOMAN AND LOVE YOURSELF

My Visit to Bidar - Part II

In continuation to http://doyouthinkyouareliving.blogspot.com/2011/03/my-visit-to-bidar-part-i.html

I am back and my experience was really awesome. It is a place I would love to visit on Guru Nanak Day as well. The route from Hyderabad to Bidar (NH 9) is a smooth journey. You will come across various dhabas and food courts. Other than that you can find sugarcane, mango farms on both the sides of the NH9. I really enjoyed my trip to Bidar and below are few pictures that I clicked. These pictures are of Gurudwara and Bidar Fort (Old Fort and New Fort). I could not click pictures in the museum as it was prohibited. But if you visit Bidar Fort do visit the Museum, it is really worth.

My Visit To Bidar - Part I

I am introducing a new label – 'My Travel Chapters'. This would have my experiences and information about places I visited and plan to visit. I think my knowledge around places visited would go waste if I do not share. I have travelled so much in life that I can write a book about itJ

Every place added something new to my personality and general knowledge. I am starting with
‘Bidar’ that I plan to visit this weekend.
I am off to Bidar for next two days. Being from Delhi, I always wanted to visit Golden Temple but somehow things were never in my favour as per time and commitments are concerned. I have been craving to have the langar and sit for a while at Gurudwara in my salwar-kameez and listen to Gurbani.
I have heard about Bidar years back but could never make it to this place. Finally, things are planned and my stuff is packed to leave for Bidar for next two days. I love to explore places and historical monuments need to be on my list.
Bidar is very famous for Gurudwara Bidar - Guru Nank Jhira, one of Holiest Place for Sikhs. Every Year this place attracts lots of tourists from all parts of the country particularly during the months of November and March. Legend has it that Saint Guru Nanak visited the place while the land was in the grip of a famine The Guru performed a miracle at the request of the locals and a spring of water from the rock mountain burst out. Till this day crystal clear water flows from the laterite trap. The belief is that drinking of this water cures many ailments. I am sure anybody staying in AP or Karnataka would like to miss. I am very excited for the langar also. They have 24 hours langar facility and it has been 6 years I never had it. So I really want to feel the satisfaction to have langarJ
There aremany other historical monuments and temples to be visited but for me major attraction is the Gurudwara as we do not have many in Hyderabad(:.
Bidar Fortand Dev DeV Vana (Botanical Garden) are also on my list. I have checked the website below and picked the best ones as per my interests that I would like to cover in these two days.

You can check the link to know about Bidar and plan a visit if you intend. Just imagine the use of this label. Somebody reading this post in Mumbai/Delhi would not even know about Bidar, something like me. So this is going to be helpfulJ

Bidar isalso famous for Bidri Ware – Black and Silver art work.  They also extend their art work to wood
carving works made of sandalwood. I would like to pick something for my home.

I would click pictures and may be make a video of Bidar and its beauty to share with all of you. I cannot comment about it much as I have not personally experienced. So this post is yet to be completed. Wait for the next continued version.

TO BE CONTINUED..............
