BEST POEM IN THE WORLD

One of the best poems I read. I got this through a reader so thanks for sharing this...! I have learned one thing do not judge others and be good at forgiving people...though hard but you wil get peace if you do so....
BEST POEM IN THE WORLD

I was shocked, confused, bewildered
As I entered Heaven's door,
Not by the beauty of it all,
Nor the lights or its decor.

But it was the folks in Heaven
Who made me sputter and gasp--
The thieves, the liars, the sinners,
The alcoholics and the trash.

There stood the kid from seventh grade
Who swiped my lunch money twice.
Next to him was my old neighbor
Who never said anything nice.

Herb, who I always thought
Was rotting away in hell,
Was sitting pretty on cloud nine,
Looking incredibly well.

I nudged God, 'What's the deal?
I would love to hear Your take.
How'd all these sinners get up here?
God must've made a mistake.

'And why is everyone so quiet,
So somber - give me a clue.'
'Hush, child,' He said, 'they're all in shock.
No one thought they'd be seeing you.'

JUDGE NOT!!
--------------------------------------------------
Remember...Just going to a place of worship doesn't make you
religious any more than standing in your garage makes you a car.

Every saint has a PAST...
Every sinner has a FUTURE

My First Milestone!!!!

The biggest task, I have been working for last two days was ‘breathing drill’. Yes, the most important part of freestyle swimming. If you wish to swim lapse over lapse you need to be good at your stamina and breathing process. If your legs and hands are in rhythm and you are not able to breathe, you need to think about your continuation with swimming as a sport.

I have two trainees who have reached to their 7th session with me and then comes the major challenge for them – to breathe. Trust me, it was a bigger challenge for me as both are good and both are 33 years old. One being a male has good stamina and other being a female has her grace. But the moment I started with the breathing session, they forgot everything they have learned in the last 6 sessions. I could see the frustration and eagerness to learn breathing in both of them. But to deal with their frustration levels and make them learn was a big challenge for me. The guy has different way of presenting his frustration and I have learned to handle his psychology whereas the lady is more expressive as she says “I know the trick but still why I am not able to get it”. My answer to them was ‘FOCUS and PRACTICE’.
I promised them that today we will not get out of the pool until you learn breathing. I changed my way to make them learn. I make them do lapse over lapse with practice of breathing. I instructed do not stop even if you forget the trick. Use your legs and hands to go forward. I am so happy to share that both of them did so well and they could learn breathing with less effort and loss of energy.

They left for the day and I felt so contented to see my efforts taking a great shape. I felt as if I have won a world cup. This was very challenging as I had to balance their physiological and psychological gap. But now when I think what drove me to do all that was a small thought – do not let it go like that! Keep practising and practising and practising........just the way a spider does not give up...I will not give up either. I stood for 2 hours in the pool, giving my feedback and motivating them. Finally, their focus and understanding could relate to my efforts and they did it....I am sure they will swim better than me.
As a coach that is what I want, my students should do better than me. They should be a step ahead of Archana!!

I am happy actually very satisfied....

I am REALLY BUSY!!!???

Life has been so busy that I have not realised that April is about to end. For me the whole day is like one pool to another pool.  After 8 days I have got some time for myself and my blog.

I live on two things – swimming pools and changing rooms. This is the most challenging phase of my life. From MBA to 7 years of corporate world, I have no idea that I would be doing all thisJ
But I am honest. I am enjoying being this more than anything else.
I have lost 2kgs since last week and I realised these days that I have been eating my lunch in the changing room J
One session to another and then you feel starved. Before I leave I pick my so called fruit salad and sandwich and while changing munch itJ
No lavish Thalis or meals that we used to find in cafeterias. By the time I reach to gym for my workout, I am already exhausted but the drive to be fit helps me. As such also people with medical problems follow one simple rule of thumb - ‘beggars are not choosers’. So no reason to miss – ‘workouts’.
Somewhere I realised that whatever happens in life has a reason behind it!
I had quit my job in 2008 followed by so many tough months of pain, anger and depression. I finally gave up in June 2010 that life has come to an end. But someone maybe somewhere was praying for me.  Though many are there to curse me as well but as we say prayers are more powerful than curses...so I get saved every timeJ
My life started changing although slowly. I started with 2 trainees and now I have 5 of them. More than that I have kept 2 trainees on hold. As my friend says you are in demand. I am happy though what I earn is less than my corporate jobs but I feel the sense of achievement. Whatever I earn, it goes to my daughter’s NGO!
I am happy as I am able to take the responsibility of a sponsored child forward with my own skills. For some 20K for a year might be nothing but for me it was a big question until I started saving for her. I feel self sufficient today!
Now why I shared all this – Just to tell if today you do not see things happening the way they should, there is some reason to that. You cannot see future what all it restores. I will not say accept life as it comes and do not do efforts but if your efforts are failing then do not feel disappointed, take life as it comes and change the way you perform....that really helps!
I changed my mind and thought process post diagnosis to deal with myself!
I changed my ways of performing things in life. Results started coming very late but I am happy to see the results. So be persistent and focussed in life. Things will starting falling at the right place :)

Today I Decided To Quit - Lovely Conversation With GOD‏!

I had a very tiring day and I was really tense for many things around me. What things?
I guess, I would write about all confusions in my next post. But what really helped me to feel better was the following story that I read just an hour back while watching the IPL (DC against Punjab XI)...I am happy Punjab XI won....I was supporting them.....:)

For now read the following story and enjoy!

Today I decided to quit...
I quit my job,
My Relationship,
I wanted to quit my life.
I went to the woods to have one last talk with GOD.
"GOD", I said. "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?"
His answer surprised me...

"Look around", GOD said. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"

"Yes", I replied.

"When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good careof them. I gave them light. I gave them water. The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful. And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did
not quit on the bamboo." GOD said.
"In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit. In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo see. I would not quit." GOD said.
"Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Comparedto the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant...But just six months later the bamboo rose toover 100 feet tall. It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive. I would not give any of my creationsa challenge it could not handle." GOD said to me.

"Did you know, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots? I would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you. Don't compare yourself to others. " GOD said.

"The bamboo had a different purpose than the fern. Yet they both make the forest beautiful. Your time will come." GOD said to me."You will rise high"

"How high should I rise?" I asked.

"How high will the bamboo rise?" GOD asked in return.

"As high as it can?" I questioned

"Yes." GOD said, "Give me glory by rising as high as you can."

I left the forest and bring back this story. I hope these words can help...
:: Moral of the Story ::

Keep Faith in your Heart... Never Give Up...
Some times... Some work need more time to achieve... Give time... Keep patience
Always concentrate on Goal... Never think about when you will achieve your
goal. Just do your job.
Give your 100% efforts without any doubt.
Success is not a goal. You work for your goal not for success. Remember, Success is the fruit of your work done.

She Ran Away From Home and Made it Big in Fashion

Thanks Ajitabh!

Ajitabh, my most regular reader has sent me this story.
I am really motivated after reading this story and I firmly believe where there is a will, there is a
way. I live on this note and it really helps. The days I am feel low or sad usually when my joints are unfriendly to me, I close my eyes and start thinking about such short real life stories that inspire me and help me to move on!
Unfortunately, today was one such day. When I read this story, I could not stop myself posting it. Like me someone somewhere might get motivated.
When she was 18, Vaishali Shadangule (neeTalankar) walked out of her parents' home in a small town in Madhya Pradesh with no money or belongings. Today, the designer runs a fashion brand in Mumbai that employs 65 people. This is her rags-to-riches tale.
It was little past 3 am when Vaishali walked out of her parents' home in Vidisha, a small town about 56 km northeast of Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh.
She walked furiously towards the local train station, with just the clothes she was wearing at that moment -- no baggage, no cash, nothing.
As she sat on the platform, ignoring the curious and unwelcome stares, she hoped for a train to arrive that would take her away from her hometown.
When she got into the first train that chugged up to the platform, she didn't know if it was going to Bhopal -- the largest town close to her home -- or away from it.
All she wanted to do was to get out of Vidisha forever.
A little over 12 years later she employs over 65 people at Vaishali S, a design house of some repute in Mumbai. Her flagship store is a sprawling 2,000 sq feet multi-level outlet in the upscale northern suburb of Juhu.
Vaishali just made her debut at the Lakme Fashion Week, her designs a pleasant departure from the heavily embroidered clothes that she usually retails.
The line -- Virus Free -- drew inspiration from pleasant childhood memories and used Chanderi, a delicate handwoven fabric from her home state, as its base fabric.
Vaishali Shadangule's journey from that railway platform in a small town in Madhya Pradesh to the glittering runway in Mumbai is purely inspirational.
To My Readers-
Dreams will only come true when you work around them. Dreams can turn into reality if you have the will to fight to make them come true.
Love Yourself!
Love Ya All
Have a rocking weekend!

Did You Wished Your Sister?

Happy Sister Week –
I was not aware of this until I saw a status update on a friend’s FB account.
As I believe live each moment and celebrate every event or special week. You are getting a chance to make someone feel special then why to miss it?
I am not sure about this week so I update my readers if you have a sister or you are someone’s sister then go ahead hug her, kiss her, pat her and pamper her. Be thankful to GOD that you are blessed to be someone’s sister or blessed to have a sister. I am sure it would be a great feeling to be a sister or to have one. I am not the right person to comment around this as for me there is no real sibling either sister or brother. For me it has been only friends. So I wish all my friends who are like sisters – A very Happy Sisters Day.
From all the lovely quotes around sisters below is the best one I read:
Isadora James
A sister is a gift to the heart, a friend to the spirit, a golden thread to the meaning of life
Make your sister feel specialJ

Keep This in Mind the Next Time You are About to Spread Gossip!

While coming back from work, I love to read a book as we say effective use of time. I read the following story. Hope you guys will like it.
Moral – Do not spread gossip...I am sure it is very
difficult for a woman. I can relate to this art of gossiping. Anyways, I am very tired and feel to hit the sack to energize for tomorrow. This one comes
your way. Read and enjoy....
Keep this in mind the next time you are about to
repeat a rumour or spread gossip!
In ancient Greece (469 - 399 BC), Socrates was widely lauded for his
wisdom.
One day an acquaintance ran up to him excitedly and said, "Socrates, do you know what I just heard about Diogenes?"
Wait a moment," Socrates replied, "Before you tell me I'd like you to pass a little test. It's called the Triple Filter Test."
'Triple filter?" asked the acquaintance.
"That's right," Socrates continued, "Before you talk to me about Diogenes let's take a moment to filter what you're going to say..
The first filter is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?"
No," the man said, "Actually I just heard about it."

"All right," said Socrates, "So you don't really know if it's true or not. Now let's try the second filter, the filter of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about Diogenes something good?"

"No, on the contrary..."
"So," Socrates continued, "You want to tell me something about Diogenes that may be bad, even though you're not certain it's true?"

The man shrugged, a little embarrassed. Socrates continued, "You may still pass the test though, because there is a third filter, the filter of Usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about Diogenes going to be useful to me?"

"No, not really."
"Well," concluded Socrates, "If what you want to tell me is neither True nor Good nor even useful, why tell it to me or anyone at all?"

The man was bewildered and ashamed. This is an example of why Socrates was a great philosopher and held in such high esteem.

It also explains why Socrates never found out that Diogenes was having an affair with his wife.

Chapter 3: Aruna's Story Contd....(Final)

Chapter 1 - Aruna's Story

Chapter 2 - Aruna's Story...Contd...

I am done with my dinner and thought to complete the final stage of Aruna’s story. I will be busy from tomorrow with coaching schedule for the next three days and will be left with no energy to think and write the final chapter.
I read the case and the book very closely. This was not only  for Aruna. I wrote all about this case as it could be for the case with anyone of us. We do not know what future restores. Last night I was reading a book and thought to login to catch up with latest in the country. A flashing headline made me sleepless. I could not sleep after reading this. Below is the link

I started tracing all such rape cases that happened in Delhi (ONLY) since 2011 started. I am short of words and the numbers are beyond our counting. These are cases that are highlighted. There may be many that are not shared by the victim. SAD!!!!
I wrote about Aruna as it is not only the case of Euthanasia Plea but a sexual attack that ruined someone’s life so crudely that she is in this vegetative state for last 37 years. I AM SHAMED OF BEING A WOMAN!!!
At that time the sweeper was just given 7 years of imprisonment as per the law. But why was
this taken as a sexual attack only when from the beginning Aruna’s condition was known and no medical scope was feasible (atleast at that time)..This WHY is still pending as justice is partially done.
Why is that women in our country is taken as a piece of flesh only?
Why is that people who are the cause of such sexual attacks are not traced in number of rape cases?
Why is that even if they are traced I never heard anyone getting the right justice in most of the cases?
There are no answers to these ‘Whys’.....SAD!!
Do not forget 37 years back it was Aruna...tomorrow it could be anyone of us.
Now few points around Euthanasia.
Euthanasia is the practice of helping severely-ill people die. Euthanasia is carried out at the request of terminally ill patients or their relatives.
Passive euthanasia is carried out by simply withholding treatments being given to a patient.
Active euthanasia means treatment is administered with the intention of ending a patient's life
In euthanasia a third party performs the last act that causes patient's death. Giving a lethal injection is an example.
In assisted suicide the patient performs the last act. Pushing a switch to trigger a fatal injection is an example.

I am against ‘Active Euthanasia’ indeed ‘Passive Euthanasia’ thought as well. But I have a question when we say that Aruna was not at fault and at the same we only say ‘she is suffering her Karma’ then why cannot we set her free of this vegetative life. There is no difference for Aruna when we say ‘alive’ or ‘dead’. But when I read the following I could relate that yes the decision to save a human life is much above than taking away that life.

“When the Court asked KEM Hospital, its Dean, Sanjay Oak, brazenly responded with some PR-type insensitive statement claiming that Aruna ‘accepted food in the normal course’ and is ‘led’ to the toilet by nurses when she makes indicative sounds. He said: “It is our foremost duty to take care of her. The way she has been taken care of also speaks volumes about the nursing at the hospital. She is really precious. Unless the ailing person himself or herself expresses such a desire, who are we to decide that he or she should no longer live?” KEM has issued a factual affidavit stating, among other things, that Aruna is ‘haemodynamically stable’, ‘her blood pressure, pulse rate are normal’ and that she is in the hospital care because her relatives refused to look after her.

It is at this stage that the Supreme Court, in January 2011, appointed a three-member medical team comprising Dr. JV Divatia, Dr. Roop Gurshani and Dr. Nilesh Shah with direction to examine the patient and submit a report. The team submitted its report, along with a CD, on February 17. On perusing these, the Bench said: “We have noted that there are many technical terms which a non-medical man would find it difficult to understand. We, therefore, request the doctors to submit a supplementary report by the next date of hearing (by e-mailing a copy two days before the hearing) in which the meaning of these technical terms is also explained”. The Bench has asked the government to make air travel, staying, conveyance and other arrangement for the team for its appearance in the Court on March 2.

Apart from Dr. Sanjay Oak, his colleague in KMC, Dr. Ravi Bapat, who was the first doctor to attend on Aruna after she was molested, asks: “Why don’t you leave her alone?…The million dollar question is whose wish, whose pity, who decides and who puts the person to death? Who is to label anyone terminally ill? Medicine is not a mathematical science where 2+2=4. How much inner joy we have of saving human life? Don’t take it away from us. Hope these proponents do not want death clinics to mushroom.” Others of his ilk ask as to how doctors can reconcile mercy killing with the Hippocratic oath they take: “I’ll give no deadly medicine to anyone if asked, nor suffer any such counsel”.

There are others who stand for mercy killing or euthanasia. For instance, Dr. Ravindra Dhelia, a member of the Society for the Right to Die with Dignity, which pleads for assisted death for individuals who wish to die after all medical help has failed them, fully agrees with Pinki Virani’s arguments. He says: “Voluntary euthanasia is not about ending a life but it is about ending a deadened survival. As far as Aruna is concerned, mercy killing is a dignified exit.”

Mercy killing or euthanasia petitions have hitherto been filed in High Courts and the President – with no consent granted. This is the first time that the Supreme Court has admitted such a petition. Among other things pro-life lobby has been harping at is the locus standi of Pinki Virami who has filed the petition as
‘next friend’. In most cases, the terminal patients are beyond making a rational choice. The Supreme Court has to rule on euthanasia per se and also who can sponsor euthanasia and under what safeguards so that this exit route is not abused – say to grab the assets of the mercy-killed. In Aruna’s case, because of the wide media interest, the Court might declare it as ‘a rarest of rare’ case - as it uses the expression to justify death sentences.”

For Aruna the difference between life and death might not be different but for all those who are taking care of her, Aruna’s life matters. I am happy to see that when her relatives did not support her, KEM staff (mainly human beings...I must say), people with hearts not minds came forward and took care of her. They proved one thing that humanity is still alive. Aruna’s life is important to all those. Let God decide when he wants her to get free of all this. I am sure Aruna will find a peaceful way to her misery but where she has raised the question of ‘sexual attack’, and ‘Euthanasia’, she has also answered a bigger question ‘Are people still human at heart?’.
I think a day will come when ‘Active Euthanasia’ will also be legalised in India with strict guidelines so that other than the patient/victim nobody else is supported. A legislative body with the authority to conduct Active Euthanasia might also be framed. Until then I JUST PRAY FOR ARUNA. I wish my readers learn something from all these chapters. Give women a SAFE HOME PLEASE!!!!

Chapter 2: Aruna's Story Contd....

If you have not read the first chapter - click the link below to read it before you proceed with this post.

Chapter-1- You Need to Read About Aruna.

Who is Pinki Virani?

Pinki Virani, the front face of Euthanasia Plea for Aruna. She is her friend and her lawyer. She is the writer of the book – ‘Aruna’s Story’. She is more of an activist than an author. The books she has written have all been to highlight some issue.
Her 'friend' and lawyer Pinki Virani had appealed for euthanasia, but doctors at KEM didn't agree, they said she responds through facial expressions. While the court dismissed author and journalist Pinki virani petition as Aruna's next friend - seeking right to die - it importantly, recognised an individual's right to die. In its 110 page judgment the court legalised passive euthanasia and has said that while active euthanasia is illegal, passive euthanasia is permissible.

Role of Pinki Virani in this case?

Pinki Virani is known for filing a petition in Supreme Court of India on behalf of Aruna Shanbaug which resulted in a judgement by the Court that legalised passive euthanasia in India. On behalf of Aruna, her friend Pinki Virani filed a petition in the Supreme Court arguing that the "continued existence of Aruna is in violation of her right to live in dignity". The Supreme Court made its decision on 7 March 2011. The court rejected the plea to discontinue Aruna's life support but issued a set of broad guidelines legalising passive euthanasia in India. However, the supreme court judges held Pinki Virani in high esteem as seein in the judgement.
Passive Euthanasia in India?
While rejecting Pinki Virani's plea for Aruna Shanbaug's euthanasia, the court laid out guidelines for passive euthanasia.[2]
According to these guidelines, passive euthanasia involves the withdrawing of treatment or food that would allow the patient to live.[4][6]
Forms of active euthanasia, including the administration of lethal compounds, are legal in a number of nations and jurisdictions, including Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands, as well as the US states of Washington and Oregon, but they are still illegal in India.[4][7]
Elsewhere in the world active euthanasia is almost always illegal.[7]
The legal status of passive euthanasia, on the other hand, including the withdrawal of nutrition or water, varies across the nations of the world.[8]
As India had no law about euthanasia, the Supreme Court's guidelines are law until and unless Parliament passes legislation.[4]
India's Minister of Law and Justice,
Veerappa Moily, called for serious political debate over the issue.[6]
The following guidelines were laid down:

A decision has to be taken to discontinue life support either by the parents or the spouse or other close relatives, or in the absence of any of them, such a decision can be taken even by a     person or a body of persons acting as a next friend. It can also be taken  by the doctors attending the patient. However, the decision should be taken bona fide in the best interest of the patient.

Even if a decision is taken by the near relatives or doctors or next friend to withdraw life support, such a decision requires approval from the High Court concerned

When such an application is filed the Chief Justice of the High Court should forthwith constitute a Bench of at least two  Judges who should decide to grant approval or not. A committee of three
reputed doctors to be nominated by the Bench, who will give report  regarding the condition of the patient. Before giving the verdict a notice regarding the report should be given to the close relatives and the State.
After hearing the parties, the High Court can give its verdict.
Pinki Virani has made an effort to highlight not only the issue of Euthanasia but put forward a step to legalise ‘Passive Euthanasia’.
To My Readers- I have few questions for all of you....
1) Where does Aruna stand today?
2) Do you think that ‘Rejection of Pinki’s Plea’ is a justice to Aruna’s case?

I respect decision of Supreme Court to legalise passive Euthanasia with strict guidelines. I am against Active Euthanasia thought but I will still write what I feel in my third chapter.
