Sinnovolle Bilder’ (Purposeful Pictures)’ - Go Green!!

I clicked a picture to support the label, Sinnovolle Bilder’ (Purposeful Pictures)’, on my blog.

It is an interesting picture as the mannequins in the mall were purposefully decked like this to support the cause of ‘Go Green’J

How about Archolicious Sunday?

I have always loved Guylian Chocolates. But I have no clue how to make them.

I got cooking chocolate bars and few other ingredients like choco chips, butterscotch crunches and nuts to make something different.

In the joy of launch of my new label and first post -

I share some pictures here.

It is an archolicious Sunday for my readersJ.

Launch of ‘SINNOVOLLE BILDER’ - A New Label!!

Firstly, thanks to the German guy, who gave me the name for my label. I appreciate meeting himJ
My first purposeful image for this label is to convey the message around ‘Child Labour’.

STOP CHILD LABOUR - Do Not HIRE Them But EDUCATE Them! Stop Child Labour and Join Hands to Educate Each Child.
You can view the Sinnovolle Bilder (Purposeful Images) at the Picasa Link below as well.
The child in this picture stays in my society and it was very hard to get this clicked. I took three consecutive meetings to click him to avoid any doubts around the purpose. I asked him to pose for me, as I feel to take a picture of him.
My readers might think why I did not raise an alarm in my society to hire a child for work in a departmental store adjacent to the building?
My answer is ‘I DID’.
I went to the owners and explained them with a printout of ‘Child Labour Act in India’ and emphasised that it is ‘illegal’ to hire children as labour. I convinced them emotionally by describing how hiring children could affect their future in the long run. But nothing worked out. They proved that he is above the age mentioned as per the ACT and so he can work as per his wish. In simple words, I failed.
To know more about Child Labour Act in India, please click the link below:
I was very restless and was constantly thinking to voice out such instances. I closed my eyes and the only answer was to blog as this is not only one case. I might save the future of this child but what about many others. Many times, I see my friends who hire young girls under the age of 14 as baby sitters. Such cases need to be attended also. All I can do is to start a label to voice out objectionable instances. I believe – ‘a pen or a key of a keyboard is mightier than the sword’. I hope after reading this, when you hire a baby sitter or a child as labour, you will surely think once.

PS: Right side is the slide deck for purposeful images that will be updated on the blog with more images with a purpose soon. So, please cooperate!!
Haben Sie ein gutes Wochenende (Have a good weekend)J

Chocolicity - My First Farewell Gift

Hyderabad is the sweetest thing of my life. It added so many flavours to my life. It made me independent, liberal, practical and ‘B4U’ kind of a person. The word ‘thanks’ is not enough as far as ‘Hyderabad’ people are concerned and their significance in my life. I am very clear, I will settle in Hyderabad only (maybe after few years from now).

I wanted to gift something that I will take as learning from Hyderabad. And I tried ‘Home Made Chocolates’ today. I am so happy to see the outcome. I do not binge on chocolates much though I love them. Thanks to chinni maa and a friend of mine who gave me the recipe and ingredients. A special thanks to my friend who had all the patience to explain me the procedure over the phone.

I gift these chocolates to my all readers from Hyderabad and of course to my friends who will get the chance to have a taste of my ‘home made chocolates’.

I am sharing the pictures of moment of chocolicity (felicity + chocolate = chocolicity). I name my chocolates as 'Chocolicity'.

‘Sinnovolle Bilder’ - A New Label

I am offered a jobJ. Life has its own ways to surprise us. Anyways, I am happy but still thinking but I might take it up as it will keep me much busier.

I had some spare time in last two days that really gave me an idea to add a new label to my blog ‘Sinnovolle Bilder’. This is a German translation for ‘Meaningful Pictures’. Now why German?

I met a very interesting German guy (CEO of a health club) in Bangalore and somehow his personality and communication skills really impressed me. I came to Hyderabad and started looking for more information about Germany and German culture. Whenever, I meet someone from different part of the globe, I sit in front of my laptop and search to know about their culture if talking to them impressed me, in good ways. This way, I have learned couple of words of different languagesJ

What is ‘Sinnovolle Bilder’ (Meaningful/Purposeful Pictures)?

Well, living is incomplete if we do not talk or share about things that strike us in some or the other ways. There are moments where a view of nature interests us so much that we click it to keep it as a memory. There are instances where we see something highly objectionable and we click it to spread a message. Either soothing to eyes or objectionable to eyes, every picture we click has a meaning or purpose behind it. This is the purpose of this label. I will, indeed have clicked some pictures that have a meaningful message. I have watermarked them with information to spread a message through this label on my blog. This label supports the purpose and meaning of the concept – ‘So You Think You Are Living’!!

Before I launch, I thought to define the usage of this label. And yes I am working on something new for me - you will see an animated slideshow on the right side of the blog window once this label is launched where all the meaningful pictures would be displayed as an animated slide deck. I need two days to execute this until then I need good luck guys!

Gute Nacht (Good Night in German):))

Wow – I am from Tairan and Vegetable Jewellery for You!!

There is nothing like homemade pasta with a cup of black coffee for breakfast after an hour’s meditation and that too on Sunday while you are blogging and planning for the day – a joyful day ahead. Today, it’s around shopping at M&S and then being pampered followed by a good workoutJ

Yesterday, it was so much fun. I explored Hyderabad and as my husband says 'feel to be an independent single for a day'.

The day ended with an encounter with a guy who asked me “Am I from Iran”? I said, “My dad is from Iran and mom from Taiwan, so I am from Tairan”.
He was just a messenger of God who helped me to get my movie tickets else Telangana and heat of Hyderabad has really messed up the online booking optionsJ. Movie was not good but any regrets, I went to see John AbrahamJ
Last two days were just gathering the best moments of Hyderabad and I went to some of the places that I could not visit in last 7 years. One such place – Chiran Fort was on my list and I was so glad to be a part of an exhibition organised at Chiran Fort by Women’s Club.

The theme of the exhibition was to make vegetable jewellery and I must say, I was shocked to see the creativity and effort of each women coming from different age groups and spheres of life. Where all women thought ‘I am a college student and they started suggesting an alliance for me’, I was quite witty, not to disclose the fact that I am married for last 7 years until the lunch ended and we dispersed. It was shock for them and their presentation of their skills was a surprise to me. I clicked few pictures to support my blog and I share the link (as below) for all of you.
https://picasaweb.google.com/108980877216677105725/JewelleryOutOfFreshVeggies#

You can see beautiful ladies in ethnic Indian dresses with a great display of their creation – jewellery made out of fresh veggies. My aunt had the best piece of creation and she really did it well.
This week was full of fun and learning for me. I can see the positive changes and this makes me feel on cloud nine. Though, I am not very happy about Bangalore but somehow when things have started falling into place, I feel confident about my relocation. I am happy don’t know but just happyJ

My Video - Support PETA and Love Your Pets!

I support PETA and I firmly believe that pets give us unconditional love. When there was no one to talk to (as we cannot expect people to listen to our saga all the time), I got my love birds. They turned me into a vegan after 31 years of my life.

I can talk to my birds – Chelsea, Gracia, Rossa, Bianca and Luna for hours and hours. I cry in front of them, I laugh with them, I play with them and it is so meditative for me.
Yesterday, my friend got his one month old baby ‘pug’ named Ludo at my apartment and I got so crazy for Ludo. I played with him like a mother with a month old baby. I forgot my all pains and worries. I clicked his pictures and made this video. This video is supporting ‘PETA’ and a basic message – love your pets and bring them home. Save a street dog or any pet of your choice and you will see; life would be full of selfless love and immense happiness.

Click the link below to see my Ludo and my few happy moments. He is like my babyJ

Story Published : Make a choice - Ask or Judge

I am happy. Each story reflects a section of my life. Carol published my first story on her website almost a year back. Life keeps changing and our thoughts sometimes come up as stories or paintings or any creative form. Make a choice - Ask or Judge, is one such story, actually I would not call it a story, it is an experience that I shared as a story that might change one mindset. There was a time, I used to feel bad when I was judged but time made me harder. Practicalities and whips of life took over the emotions out of my heart. There were days when I could not control a tear for someone else and today, I do not feel to cry for myself also. Judging by others changed me but I do not want this should happen to my readers. Be what you are and do not change yourself to be what others want to see you as. I had to change as I had no option and have no option. But I hope this story gives a new light to many of you who are judged and felt bad about it. Things might not change for me but I hope it must change for many of you:)

Thanks Carol for everything and for all those lovely appreciating emails. They mean a lot to me.

Thinking Fast and Slow

I am quite unwell and the best part is that I never let my people feel or know that. It always adds tension and stress to their lives too.
I have bad stomach pain and I am scared to eatJ. The days are getting more stressful but I get lot of relief when I read this book. I am reading this book for last few weeks and I would like to share the name with my readers.
Thinking Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman, my new addition to my libraryJ

US Magazine Covered My Story: Time for Treat!!

This really calls for a treat. I was searching for something when I came across this link. My story indeed my real life incident that I wrote as a story was published in a US magazine (Home and Family Magazine- www.bahamasfamily.com)  in April, 2011.

This story is listed as a special feature on the cover page and this really makes me happy. I am putting a cropped picture of the sameJ

When any writer or artist cross borders and get a chance to be read or viewed by people on the other part of the globe, there job is half done. I am happy and thankful to this magazine for spreading the message of ‘Forgiveness’ through this story.

My readers who missed this story of mine can click the link below to read the same.

I am off to Bangalore for couple of days and I thank everyone for making my life so beautiful by reading it.

10th April 2012 – A Day to Remember!

If I am asked what is ‘love’?

My answer will be the day I understand, what is ‘love’; I will be the most beautiful person on this Earth. The word ‘beautiful’ here is ‘inner’ beauty. The colour of flesh and the attitude of your personality might make others attracted towards you but it can never overshadow one’s simplicity and inner beautyJ

Art is one thing that reflects your thoughts and that inner beauty. Yesterday, I went with my art teacher to couple of Art Galleries in Hyderabad. The knowledge, I gathered from these art galleries was like ‘I need one more life to understand art and love’.

For me, love is passion and that passion can be revealed through art or writings or any other creative forms. When someone reads your work or sees it, they get pleased, you are spreading love and that is the definition of ‘love’ for me.

I visited Shrishti Art Gallery and State Gallery of Fine Arts. Both of the art galleries gave me a broader outlook around art and the lives of artists. I got the chance to explore art works by famous artists like – Anjolie Ela Menon, Arpana Caur, Lalitha Lajmi, Rekha Rao, Asma Menon, Anjani Reddy, Kavita Deuskar, Seema Kohli and many upcoming artists.

Each painting was a saga in its own. The detailed intricacies of each painting made me read art. Trust me, reading art is completely different from being an artist. It is like reading someone’s life, thoughts and imaginations. I am glad, I started my fine arts journey as it gave me a reason to learn and see a different world than our world of reality.

My four hours were like watching a world of imagination. You have colours, concept and beautiful blend of reality and imagination. Some paintings had a strong mythological concept whereas some were as pleasant flowers of spring. I experienced, all seasons under one roof in the intense heat of Hyderabad.

The day ended with making a blueprint of blog for my art teacher. I read lot of techie things around copyright or watermark images and how to protect your work of art being stolen. So it was a day of complete learning and new growth for a blogger and writer like me.

I am happy...Life has lot to teach me!

Maybe, I have lot to learn!

Man Proposes, God Disposes!

Man Proposes, God Disposes!

This is really true when I think about Thursday and my plans to travel to Bangalore then Maharashtra. My husband and friends could make it as per the plans but I am left behind.

(:

My husband had no options as he had to travel due to commitments involved and he was so much in guilt as he was not able to take me along with him. The only factor that stopped me was my ‘health’. Since last afternoon, I caught up with acute ulcer pain that was like you cannot sit or lie down. You keep rolling from end of the bed to the otherJ.

But this reminds me that health is so important. It is one thing, if lost you can never make up for it. My problem is I keep things in my heart and do not vent them out that lead to stress and negative energy trapped within me. This adds to bad health. And now I have a reached a stage where I have to be kept peaceful mentally by medicinesJ

Why am I writing this all for my readers?

Today, it is World Health Day so make sure you learn from this post that how vital your health is for you. Other than being physically fit, one needs to really live a stressful life. I am working on it and I hope next World Health Day would be a better one for meJ

Wishing my all readers a Very Healthy LifeJ

HAPPY EASTER in advanceJ

Link to Two New Stories - Finally Published!!

For any creative person whether a writer or an artist, lot of thoughts come when they are emotional. For me last few days have been like an emotional journey, lot of things are happening around me. The activities are not giving me time to think so my thoughts or emotions are coming in form of stories. I wrote two stories in the last 5 days and I am happy to share the links as below. My web editor, Cathy liked the concept and published them on her site. Here are the links and hope my readers will enjoy reading them:

‘Come stai’ is inspired by my real life incident. It is message to my people and those who think that a question ‘How have you been?’ makes no difference.

34 Letters to God is a real life incident of a friend’s mom that I expressed as a semi-fiction story.

Good nightJ

Good-Byes at Sphoorti

Good-Byes

April starts and so are my good-byes. I am too busy from today as I have to wind up my Fine Art classes. My meetings with editors and publishers before I head for the ‘Electronic City’ of IndiaJ

I would not name it as ‘good-bye’ but maybe as of now my last meeting with my kids at Sphoorti. I went to meet my daughter last evening and it was so much fun to spend time with kids. I have clicked few pictures and I would love to blog it for my readers, friends and familyJ

Sphoorti is the reason that will always keep me connected to Hyderabad. There is no reason not to visit Sphoorti no matter where I am located in the world. Few clicks with my daughter have given me so much love and warmth to be happy for next few months.

April Fools’ Day 2012

Happy Fools’ Day 2012

Thank God, April Arrived...I was bored of March 2012J

Today is Fool’s Day, a day that we love to celebrate for no reasons. April Fools' Day is celebrated in different countries on April 1 every year. Sometimes referred to as All Fools' Day, April 1 is not a national holiday, but is widely recognized and celebrated as a day when many people play all kinds of jokes and foolishness. This custom is thought to have started in France during the 16th century but the British are credited with bringing it to the United States.

The day is marked by the commission of good-humored or otherwise funny jokes, hoaxes, and other practical jokes of varying sophistication on friends, family members, teachers, neighbors, work associates, etc.

The best thing about Fool’s Day is that it gives you an idea about your good friends’ indeed best friends. How?

Friends who can tease you and make a fool of you are the ones who know you in and out. They are the ones who know how you will react to a particular situation or are well aware of your fears and hidden weaknesses (the word ‘weakness’ is not used in a negative aspect). Take any instance from your life and recall this day from this aspect. You will actually realize that the ones who made a fool of you were or are your best friends or the ones who understand you the best!

Happy Fools’ Day!!
