My Poem - How Can I Meet God?

Dear Readers,

As a child I always asked my father, "How can I meet God?"

In every success to thank God, and in every failure to cry in front of HIM, I always wanted to meet God.

My father used to smile and explain me different ways to connect with God. Today, as a sponsored mother, my daughter might ask me the same question. This thought prompted me to write a poem around the question, 'How can I meet God?'

A n A?

I have almost completed my book, and it is at the stage of editing and compiling. I am back to my old routine of workouts. I went to Nandi Hills with my friends to start a new day after 34 weeks of writing for my book. Just two more weeks and then we will see how things go in my life.

For last one month the swimming pool was under some kind of construction. I have gone through painful days but finally it is inaugrated in the morning. The club manager who is a retired from Indian Armed Forces called my husband to convey a message as following:

"Your wife was the first person who came to my mind. I know her love for swimming and I can understand all the pain that she experienced in the last one month. I thought to personally call to share the good news with her".

I was completely flattered. I was like - 'people notice me?....'....I was touched by his concern for my condition. A patient only needs care and a word of support. I thanked him n number of times!

After a while, a friend called to tell that she met my AOL teacher in Hyderabad, and he still remembers me. He told her about my medical condition that when I attended the class in 2011, I was in a very bad shape - mentally and physically. I was again shocked - my teacher who come across so many students in a month/year remembers me, and my medical condition....I thanked him too............

A = Archana and A = Arthritis.....Weird Strange Combination in my life:)

Any patient just needs a word of encouragement. It boosts their morale. Give something to the world so that you are remembered forever!

God gave me Arthritis for a reason...............!!

Sad day for Hyderabad!

It is a sad day for Hyderabad. I have lived in Hyderabad for 7 years, and it is more than my hometown. The link below definitely makes me feel sad. I hope my all friends/family and readers are safe. Prayers for those who lost their lives. It is a victory of inhumanity over humanity. It is sad that innocent people are always targeted for no cause. It is not justified to use violent means to get noticed or to be listened. Though, the reason behind the blasts are not known but somewhere humanity is again targeted!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I do not want to be partial in wishing this day. I think it is to acknowledge love for your husband, children, friends and family. The feeling of love might differ but the meaning remains the same.

I wish all the wonderful men in my life - a Happy Valentine's Day. Behind every successful woman there are many intelligent, understanding and inspiring men. From my father to my husband, from my brother to my boss, from my editor to my doctors, I wish all the great men in my life - A Happy Valentine's Day. Each one of them made me fall in love with myself. They gave me a reason to prove that I am a part of their life and they should not regret about it. 

I deny the fact that Valentine's Day is only for people in love. I think - it is a day to acknowledge love. Love for a father who pay for your education, love for a friend who supports you in your harder days, love for a husband who loves you the most, love of your doctor to see you healthy, love of a brother to be with his sister, love of a boyfriend who does not cheat.

It is a day around love driven by trust.

True Love!


Love is true when it is selfless and unconditional. Every year I post this poem as I could not find a better poem to post on my blog around Valentine's Day!

Any relation is worth living if there is LOVE, TRUST, RESPECT and HUMANITY.

Red roses were her favorites, her name was also Rose.
And every year her husband sent them, tied with pretty bows.
The year he died, the roses were delivered to her door.
The card said, "Be my Valentine," like all the years before.

Each year he sent her roses, and the note would always say,
"I love you even more this year, than last year on this day."
"My love for you will always grow, with every passing year."
She knew this was the last time that the roses would appear.

She thought, he ordered roses in advance before this day.
Her loving husband did not know, that he would pass away.
He always liked to do things early, way before the time.
Then, if he got too busy, everything would work out fine.

 She trimmed the stems, and placed them in a very special vase.
Then, sat the vase beside the portrait of his smiling face.
She would sit for hours, in her husband's favorite chair.
While staring at his picture, and the roses sitting there.

A year went by, and it was hard to live without her mate.
With loneliness and solitude, that had become her fate.
Then, the very hour, as on Valentines before,
The doorbell rang, and there were roses, sitting by her door

She brought the roses in, and then just looked at them in shock.
Then, went to get the telephone, to call the florist shop.
The owner answered, and she asked him, if he would explain,
Why would someone do this to her, causing her such pain?

"I know your husband passed away, more than a year ago,"
The owner said, "I knew you'd call, and you would want to know."
"The flowers you received today, were paid for in advance."
"Your husband always planned ahead, he left nothing to chance."

"There is a standing order, that I have on file down here,
And he has paid, well in advance, you'll get them every year.
There also is another thing, that I think you should know,
He wrote a special little card...he did this years ago."

"Then, should ever, I find out that he's no longer here,
That's the card...that should be sent, to you the following year."
She thanked him and hung up the phone, her tears now flowing hard.
Her fingers shaking, as she slowly reached to get the card.

Inside the card, she saw that he had written her a note.
Then, as she stared in total silence, this is what he wrote...
"Hello my love, I know it's been a year since I've been gone,
I hope it hasn't been too hard for you to overcome."

"I know it must be lonely, and the pain is very real.
For if it was the other way, I know how I would feel.
The love we shared made everything so beautiful in life.
I loved you more than words can say, you were the perfect wife."

"You were my friend and lover, you fulfilled my every need.
I know it's only been a year, but please try not to grieve.
I want you to be happy, even when you shed your tears.
That is why the roses will be sent to you for years."

"When you get these roses, think of all the happiness,
That we had together, and how both of us were blessed.
I have always loved you and I know I always will.
But, my love, you must go on, you have some living still."

 "Please...try to find happiness, while living out your days.

Conversation with God!

How my day started?

I woke up early as I had lot of things to be completed as far as my work was concerned. I just started writing, when my cook called - 'I cannot come. I am not well!'

I closed my diary and started cooking. I took two hours to make the breakfast and the lunch. My husband wanted to had 'gajar ka halwa'. I was like - Ok, month of love, why not?

After cutting almost 1.5 kg carrots, I realised my chopper does not work. I have to manually chop all the carrots. I started at 3 PM and took 2 hours to make the dessert. 

I am feeling good but my knees are not happy with me:).

I think God planned a difficult day for me. But then I read this on my Fb, and thanked God for everything!

Me: God, can I ask You a question?
God: Sure

Me: Promise You won't get mad ... ... ... ...
God: I promise

Me: Why did You let so much stuff happen to
me today?

God: What do u mean?

Me: Well, I woke up late

God: Yes

Me: My car took forever to start

God: Okay

Me: at lunch they made my sandwich wrong &
I had to wait

God: Huummm

Me: On the way home, my phone went DEAD,
just as I picked up a call

God: All right

Me: And on top of it all off, when I got home

~I just want to soak my feet in my new foot
massager & relax. BUT it wouldn't work!!!

Nothing went right today! Why did You do
that?

God: Let me see, the death angel was at your
bed this morning & I had to send one
of My Angels to battle him for your life. I let
you sleep through that

Me (humbled): OH

GOD: I didn't let your car start because there
was a drunk driver on your route that would
have hit you if you were on the road.

Me: (ashamed)

God: The first person who made your
sandwich today was sick & I didn't want you
to catch what they have, I knew you couldn't
afford to miss work.

Me (embarrassed):Okay

God: Your phone went dead bcuz the person
that was calling was going to give false
witness about what you said on that call, I
didn't even let you talk to them so you would
be covered.

Me (softly): I see God

God: Oh and that foot massager, it had a
shortage that was going to throw out all of
the power in your house tonight. I didn't
think you wanted to be in the dark.

Me: I'm Sorry God

God: Don't be sorry, just learn to Trust Me.... in
All things , the Good & the bad.

Me: I will trust You.

God: And don't doubt that My plan for your
day is Always Better than your plan.

Me: I won't God. And let me just tell you God,
Thank You for Everything today.

God: You're welcome child. It was just
another day being your God and I Love
looking after My Children...

Sikar Gang-rape Victim!

It is a hurtful moment, when you read such news around the condition of women in India. I have been following this case of a gang-rape of a girl in Sikar who has gone through multiple surgeries, and is still fighting for her life.

Let us all pray for her. We are helpless. All we can do is just pray. It is very easy for a man in India to rape a woman, but the psychological and physiological pain involved can never be eradicated. A woman lives with it till she LIVES. At times, people take just a moment to make someone relive her past but how hard it is for a victim to go through her past, nobody can understand.

A Better World!

I asked my friend , "How are you?"

He answered, "Just bought a new car."

I was baffled. I could not understand his answer to my question. A car decides someone's well-being.

We have become slaves to materialistic things. We decide our happiness on the basis of our financial status and materialistic possessions. We look down upon those who do not possess a big house or a big car. Life is spinning into confusion, negativity and anger as we are simly judging people around us.

Month of Love : Look beyond these small pity things. Look for a gesture to kiss a child. A moment to spend with someone you hardly know. A bite of your meal to someone who is really hungry. A piece of cloth for a naked body.

It is easy to comment about others lives but difficult to compliment someone's noble act. If you cannot do good to others, do not to bad as well.

Promise yourself - to create a better world for our children!

Talk....!

My life is not an easy one. I do not crib around not working or owning a big house. These are mere matters to me. What troubles me is the physical pain. Yesterday, it was a really bad day for me. I could not tolerate the pain, and almost burst into tears. I cried and kept on crying. I hugged my snoopy and told him, "I have pain. I just do not want to live."....But snoopy is a toy, he cannot talk to me:)....But I felt quite better after talking to snoopy. Snoopy was just a reflection for me to vent out and feel better. As we know we all need someone to talk, and vent out. I have a life-long problem and I cannot bother everyone all the time, but sharing your feelings definitely helps. It helped me!

Month of Love: Lend an ear to your loved ones. Life is not only to take but to give as well. Sharing happiness is an easy thing, share someone's pain...trust me, you will feel better!

How I feel now?

Life is like a swing - goes up and down. In my life, where I had lost many things indeed almost every thing, I am still happy!

I see myself as a different person who started writing for venting out her feelings, without knowing the fact that her blog was public. And then one fine day, she wrote a book for which she had no editor as I had not much money. I would not like others to pay for me - and I am proud of this trait of my personality. It drives me to think and work!

And then she started earning through her own writings, though not much but still at times - 'money matters'. Today, when I am done with 11 chapters for my second book, and I am helped by an editor. It feels good when your editor tells you about your improvements. I see my second book to be flawless indeed perfect.

In the last one year, after I started the secret group of JFE writers, I met some of the most interesting people. I, genuinely, enjoyed being in this group but it was a learning experience to read Alan's writings. 

Month of love is also about accepting a fact - when you lose a person, you are making room for one new friend to enter your life. I might not have a family like many of you but there are many families who have my writings, and read this blog. As I always believe - if I can make one person smile, my all sorrows are forgotten!

Though, I will always miss few people as at times there is no relation but there is a relation. There is no bond but something connects people. It hurts as you can make place for new people but there is a place for someone for which there is no replacement or substitute, a memory - good or bad that lasts till we last:).....BUT life has to go on...........................

World Cancer Day, 2013

I wish there was no such day. I wish there was no disease called as 'Cancer'.

Last year, I lost my friend. She was suffering with liver cancer. In the span of two months her condition deteriorated and she left all of us with some memories.

Any medical ailment can be fought with will power and mental strength. Cancer is a scary word. I do not know what to write, as I feel miserable, when I think about 'Cancer', but I can request all my readers - to close your eyes and pray for every cancer patient and their families.

Month of love is also about loving all those who are suffering from different medical problems. I have eaten almost 50,000 mg antibiotics in last two weeks, have lost my taste buds and gained few calories.  I look pale and wan but still there is a feeling that drives me - I want to be fine and want to live. I cannot imagine how a cancer patient feels, but one thing I know is a fact - he/she definitely wants to live.

So, let us pray for all of them!

Month of Love: Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

We are celebrating month of love on my blog. Love is a very wide term. It is difficult to dedicate a month or a year to write about 'love'. Writers to poets have spend many years of their lives exploring their imaginations and fantasies around love. From sexual to platonic, we have some very rich literary works around love. But there is a underlying fact that drives my definition around love - a simple one, love yourself and you will love everyone around you.

What is your definition of love?

I got up and my heart asked a question to me?

What is love?

Very difficult to answer but yes life has many people who answer it for us. I answer this question for myself in this post. You can also answer it by listing few names who make your life complete. As this is the month of love and we are celebrating it on my blog, let us make our lives full of love. Let us acknowledge people who make us feel special.

I could think of many names but could shortlist only six. My mother who has all the patience at the age of 62 to handle me as a 33 years old spoiled child. My father who still treats me like sweet 16 and does not let me travel alone, as he believes his daughters are the most beautiful women on Earth, like every father. He still worries for me as if I do not eat on time, and a big no to tight shirts, and short skirts. At times, it irritates but the love and concern makes me feel good. My husband who accepted me with all my flaws, who held me in in his arms, and climbed 20 stairs so that I can see the view from hill top like other tourists. He promised me, you will see the world like others, and what I am today are his efforts, and confidence in me. When I wrote something grammatically incorrect he just said a line "- there is scope of improvement and you can do it." 

I improved because of his efforts in my life. We fought but we still stayed together, as we knew - we are born for each other. My god given sister who completes me as a woman. I share my every single feeling with her. What I missed for so many years, she has completed in last 3 years. My brother, again God given. He could always sense my feelings on FB. He used to call me all the way from US to check about my well- being. There were times he had little money but still he used to call. My friend and my editor for my second book I met in Deloitte. We fought but still stayed together. He agreed to edit my second book just because it was my book..

I completed my life and I do not think - I have any regrets. So, make your list and just feel God has given you so many people in your life to feel special and loved!

Flavour of Month: Love!

Let us start the first day of Month of love with this beautiful poem by Pablo Neruda


I do not love you except because I love you;
I go from loving to not loving you,
From waiting to not waiting for you
My heart moves from cold to fire.
