Ripples of Love Gets PUBLISHED!!

As an Eid Gift - I am proud to share the second anthology under the umbrella of 'Author's United'. For more than 75 days - 16 authors have contributed their stories/poems/Haiku. We have proofread and designed to give the best book around love to our readers. Grab your copy at the link -

This is a very special book for me. You can read my haiku, love story and a poem of love written by me. I am thoroughly looking forward for my copy as I want to gift it to myself. I have worked very hard for this project. My title got maximum votes and to see an anthology on the same name is a great feeling in itself.

Love is a special feeling. All 16 authors from 9 different countries have written amazing stories and poems for all of you. I have been a part of editorial team and have done intensive proofreading of this project so it makes it all the more special for me!

Happy Reading <3

Click My Educational Video - Inappropriate Touch

High time and I thought to make one for 'Inappropriate Touch' as a subject for my first educational video. I have added animations to help you to capture the interest of your child. As a writer - more than getting published or winning contests, I find my responsibility in contributing to society. What is happening in schools/colleges leave me bothered as well. Please play the video and share!

You can also visit my official FB page to view the same.

Let us try to give our children a better and a safer childhood.

;))...The Empty Bottle is Done!

The malt bottle is completed and just the warnish is left. Then I have to get a wooden case for it. I have learnt one thing - I am very bad at fighting my fears. Few months back - I just took a decision to remain disconnected as my fear of dying some day without seeing a friend started affecting me in my own conversations. In so many months - I have not even tried to fight my own fear. All the time - I was painting this bottle, I felt if it breaks then what???.....Then what - >>. I guess - we will have to buy a new one, right? But for an emotional person like me - I cannot take it. I love my friends and family. I learn to go out of the way doing things for them (knowingly or unknowingly I am like that). But its good to see that bottle came out so well. Never expected it. At times two friends have different aspects to the same friendship. One is never ready and the other is ever ready. One thinks its wired; the other felt it was a destined friendship. But at the end - one has to surrender to make things better.

Anyways....a good news my ku is shortlisted in the 122th. WHA Haiga Contest. It can be viewed at the below link -

or can see it here as well -

Happy Monday!!

Micropoetry for a Thought!!

I wrote micropoetry for a thought on my FB page. I guess it can be posted on my blog as well. Dedicated to a thought to curb - 'Crime Against Women in India'. My work is also shortlisted in brassbell Haiku journal for the August issue. And 'Ripples of Love' is all set to go live on Eid. This book is very special to me as from selection process to editing/proofreading/book designing/review checklist - I have lived every role. If words can leave an impact then maybe my following three attempts help someone to alter his mind. Love women - do not rape/molest/abuse them. Remember - you are in this world because of a woman only!

You can also visit my FB author page or LIKE the same for more updates. Just one like away from 100 :)

Living Haiku Anthology - My Haiku Page Goes Live!

In Feb 2014 I read a website 'Living Haiku Anthology'. It evoked a feeling that I should be a haijin and my name should in this anthology (a portal that includes Haiku by almost all the haijins globally).

My journey of writing Haiku was not an easy one. But today morning my efforts were paid when I saw a message in FB group of 'Living Haiku Anthology' as below:

"I am pleased to announce the inclusion of a selection of haiku by Archana Kapoor Nagpal in the anthology. They may be read athttp://livinghaikuanthology.com/poets-pages/n/242-archana-kapoor-nagpal.html"

Long way to go and be a much better haijin. It feels good when your dreams come true. Keep dreaming. Keep writing!!

At the above link my work can be read. Thanks to my editor Don Baird and webmaster Hansha Teki.

Good night <3

Yawnnnninnnggggg!!!

I am so tired. For the last 8 hours I have been working on this file of our new anthology. Phew!!

Finally it is done. It feels so good to sleep now. I am listening to one of my favourite song - 'Main Tenu Samjhawan ki'....Oh! I am also singing while blogging this post :)).

Few good memories I cherish when I listen to this song. But yes no time to look back in life. Time to hit the sack. Ear plugs off my ears. I also painted the 'Glenfiddich' bottle in the afternoon.

Almost half done...so far!!

Oops!! I forgot to share the link with all of you to listen to this number -

Recent Updates Around My Work ---

Phew !!

It was a hectic weekend. I have almost completed two poems and one is dedicated to my friend who is an acid attack victim. We just got connected through FB and last morning I saw her featured on the front page of 'Sunday Times', Bangalore. The very first thing was to message her on Fb and congratulate her. She is now so far from her own country as she wants to pursue her dream in US. I will share my poem on my FB page soon after her consent. Until then some quick updates.

My readers will get to read my work in the following journals/blogs/websites -

1.) The Mustard Grain - Online Journal for Micropoetry
2.) Modern Haiku (Issue 45:3)
3.) Cattails (Sept 2014, Issue)
4.) Issa's Untidy Hut
5.) Dailyhaiga
6.) Friday Gurgaon

Many more submissions are yet to be approved ...;)

Recently, my haiga got shortlisted and is also published. It can be read at the following link -

Another anthology is about to be published and will be released in August 2014. The title was suggested by me. My title got the maximum number of votes. This anthology includes my poem, haiku and a love story. I have also done the editing and proofreading for the book. To mention the layout of the book as well. It feels so good. Keep reading my blog. Soon to share the poem about my friend. Btw, the title of the anthology is 'Ripples of Love' (collection of short stories and poems).

Thanks for reading me so far.

Try by Colbie Caillat - Must Watch and Read It!

Just listen to this video and read the lyrics (such a beautiful video with a thoughtful message)  by Colbie Caillat - http://www.metrolyrics.com/try-lyrics-colbie-caillat.html.

No no to make up. I simply hate it. The layers of MAC or LAKME or Loreal on my face with gloss on my lips, a blush of red to highlight my cheek bones or sun screen against the UV rays...give me a break. On a function in June 2014, I felt like a different person when I did all this for the event. It was just not me. I still prefer my spanish curls that give out of bed look and my only kajal under my eyes. I was told to get my hair straightened for a day for the event but I chose to flaunt my curls (just feel comfortable in my own skin). My mom hates me in glasses. Like many people she thinks - it is a negative foreign body to one's personality. Maybe - a man does not pass a look to a woman who wear glasses, is it really true ?????.....well still I do not care as I love my glasses <3.

Wear sun screen as you might get tan in the pool. So how does it matter. I am lucky to have two shades of skin in one life. I can be fair and dark in one life. Whoa..what else one needs. Now coming to jewellery. Hahaha...I hate this too. The only thing I like to support is my white wrist watch as I just love it. No matter we are out for a dinner or a family function - I love to always wear it. I stopped colouring my hair since 2011. A big no to liquid foundations. I have only three lip colours and a dark black kajal. I do drink lot of water to hydrate my skin. What you eat comes out on your skin. Exercise and you will not need any regenerative branded creams. Trust me at the age of 34 I apply fresh milk cream with honey to keep my glow up...up and up!

A video by Colbie Caillat made me feel so good. I could connect to it. Just Be Yourself. I never go to gym or pool to be thin. I want to be fit and strong to fight my ailments. I want good strong legs and a toned body for myself. But I always loved my fat as well - when I was 83 kgs. So just take a break. Look yourself in the mirror. You will find the answers to your questions.

I hope 'You Will Like Yourself' after reading this post.

Happy Weekend <3

New Thought ......

I call my new painting as 'red lips'. Well this was just made in a day and then I thought to do charcoal painting on this sketch with an acrylic base. I plan to paint the only single malt bottle in my memory box in the similiar pattern :).

I will resume my big canvas painting for my meditation corner. I plan to finish it before my birthday and gift it to myself :).

I hardly make paintings for my friends. I guess 'regalo' was the only one so far! After painting the 'Glenfiddich' bottle - I will resume my hall painting. I plan to use clay and POP textures for this bottle. Hope it comes out to be a good one.

Until then click the link below to see 'Red Lips' on my art blog.

Fourth of July

After a long list of submissions and acceptance of my Japanese poetry - it is time to get back to only writing to finish my latest project. I am channelising my all energies for this project. I have been told not to sit for more than 10 minutes ....(lol, is that really possible????) for any writer or a professional. Hmmmm...but thats the way I can handle my back else we have to get it operated.

In this Delhi trip I got my all reports checked once again. Like always the answer to my problem is 'no'. My disorder has no cure or treatment. It is assumed out of 10 cells in body - if 4 degenerate then also 2 cells at my age have the capacity to regenerate to strengthen the body. But for me they do not regenerate. So in short and simple words all 4 degenerate making my condition weaker year by year. It is like sun is gradually setting and after this night - there will be no morning for me ..LOL!!!

Somewhere science also failed. But one thing that can help me to move on - I still love my life and myself.

A Haiga written for my readers, friends and family in US.
