ancestral home …
from every spider’s hammock

the autumn moon

first snowfall …
in my pot of water
the rising moon

farewell …
away from her epitaph
another fallen leaf

walking downhill …
another time my footsteps
follow my shadow

Haiku Published in Hedgerow #13

walking uphill ...
one by one my steps
before my shadow

Hedgerow #13 includes my haiku. Immensely thankful to Caroline for selecting this ku. This is my favourite one. It comes from my childhood memory of going to school in Shillong. I have relived these memories while writing haiku. Love.

Coming Up!

Dear Readers -

In few weeks - you will get to read my work in two other journals - The Bamboo Hut that will include four of my tanka, and The Hedgegrow Haiku Online Journal that will include one of my favourite haiku.

I have been very busy submitting my work to almost all the journals for the first quarter of this year as I will quite busy from Feb first week. I have to shift to a new apartment and decorate my home from the beginning. I have two paint two big canvas before I move. Btw, in a day or so I will post the pic of my latest painting. Not to forget my art workshop starts tomorrow, and there are hundred things happening around me. But I am enjoying all the challenges of life :).

Good night

I am a semi-finalist - Raedleaf Poetry Award 2014

Raedleaf Poetry Award 2014 (Haiku) section has received submissions from 68 haiku poets/haijins in August 2014 (around the globe). Out of the the entire batch of 68 wonderful people - few of the poets have received an e-mail from the Good Team of Raedleaf Poetry. They are the semi-finalists of the group.

Fortunately, I am one of the semi-finalist. I do not know whether I will make it to the 10 finalists and then just one winner BUT I am thankful to God for taking my entries to semi-finalist list. It means a lot to me. I already feel like a winner.

Lot more to do and learn in 2015. Happy Weekend.

Love

Ak

Do Not Make Resolutions !!

I am not planning a resolution driven year. When asked about my resolutions - i always answer one thing - live every day rather than planning 365 days. Life cannot be planned. I am glad it cannot be planned else i would have been a Knowledge Database Manager than a swimming coach/author/chocolate maker/artist/blogger.

I wanted one job, God gave me four jobs. I wanted to be financially independent, God gave me independence in all aspects. Remember - it is true you might desire less and deserve more. Live every day than making resolutions for 365 days.

Every day if lived enough makes a YEAR. HAPPY NEW YEAR.
