Badtameez Day - Chocolate Day -:)

I am almost done with my chocolates and I am thankful to Ranbir Kapoor's song - Badtameez Dil. It really kept my energies high. I liked the song though not great lyrics but a funny number. Ranbir Kapoor looks dapper and handsome like always. I just admire him in all his roles. He is a great actor and so good looking:)

Chocolate day for a chocolate boy - Ranbir Kapoor:)

I made all the chocolates while listening to this perfect number of Ranbir Kapoor - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXfW3LyixIM

Have a Badtameez Day:)...........

Cheers!

Glivec Patent Case!

I really need a hot cup of tea. I am so tired!

I was following 'Glivec Patent Case', and I am quite convinced with the decision as it will make the medicine affordable to common people in our country.

I can realise the cost factor of medical treatment in India is already on a higher side of the scale. A basic test of TSH or Prolactin cost more than INR 1000 for a common man. If the judgement would have been in the favour of 'Novartis', it might have affected the mango people of India. I am convinced and happy with the judgement as it is in the favour of people like us!

Happy Holi ....:)

Holi is my favourite festival. I love colours - red, blue, pink, green, and it should be followed by roadside pani puri.....WOW!

Ok!

I created a wish for all of you. This picture will help you to understand the significance of colours. Just imagine if there would have been just two colours black and white, life would have been so boring. I am trying to convey a message by posting this picture here (created by me) that fill your life with colours. They really make a difference to your attitude and life. Do not forget to fill these colours in the lives of your loved ones. If you still do not believe me then see this colourless picture to acknowledge the world of colours!

Happy Holi to all my readers!....Just colour your world!

Holi Of Hope!

India is a land of festivals. Two days from now, we have festival of colours - HOLI.

I am sharing an article that makes this festival all the more special for me. March is the month of 'Women's Month' on my blog and after reading this article, I feel to post it on my blog -

There is no reason to defy someone of colours. Colours make us feel positive and happy about ourselves. I have a better reason to celebrate 'Holi' this year:)

Happy Women's Day !!

To my all women readers around the globe - A Very Happy Women's Day.

My poemfor all the women is published in Friday Gurgaon, and I have completed my three months contract with them for better things in life. I am happy that I completed my tenure on a very special day, for all the women - 'Women's Day'.

Here is the link - http://www.fridaygurgaon.com/news/3019-The-Women-In-Your-Life.html

My small message for all the women - Just Be Yourself. It comes from an Indian woman who stays in a male dominated society. Just Be Yourself means to live fullest to your expectations and desires. Do not let your goodness or strengths fade away by unfortunate incidents or miseries of life.

I really talk very loud :). When I talk, people think I am mad at someone. But I had to shout being a woman among men and bidding for my projects during my sales job - a decade ago. Now, I have become like that, and people do critcize my voice, but I still do not mind. I know my journey and it is my life. I still wear my glasses and flaunt them as a gift of God. I believe - 'I AM JUST MYSELF'.

I see women straightening their hair, wearing too much makeup. I am no exception. But do not let your inner beauty die as that is what matters at the end of the day.

I am proud to be a woman like many of you!

Cheers!

Story of Anamika.....

Her story is a mystery. She is still in coma after a month's time in one of the hospitals in Bangalore. She was found in semi-clad state among beer bottles and condoms. It is a mystery of her misery that nobody knows till she responds to the treatment.

An appeal to everyone - we are not vegetables.....Before you wish us - 'Women's Day', believe in the power of words. At times, we are physically raped and many times, we are emotionally raped.

To know more about her story, please click the link below.............

Sikar Gang-rape Victim!

It is a hurtful moment, when you read such news around the condition of women in India. I have been following this case of a gang-rape of a girl in Sikar who has gone through multiple surgeries, and is still fighting for her life.

I am sharing the link here on my blog -

Let us all pray for her. We are helpless. All we can do is just pray. It is very easy for a man in India to rape a woman, but the psychological and physiological pain involved can never be eradicated. A woman lives with it till she LIVES. At times, people take just a moment to make someone relive her past but how hard it is for a victim to go through her past, nobody can understand.

Sad!

I am Crazy....:)

Are you crazy?

If you answer is - 'No', then check this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kq2s0uHsao

If you are not crazy then you are not in love with yourself. Just be the way you are and be proud of yourself, ALWAYS!

Month of Love is also about being crazy at times. I still sleep with my snoopy and love to mess up my room. I love to flaunt yellow heels with a dark red lipcolour...at the end of the day, how does it matter what others think about you?

If you love yourself, you just yourself!

Freedom or Life of Terror!

What we want to give to our future generation - freedom or life of terror?

A question we might have to answer to our children.

I went for swimming and could not enter the changing room. I knocked twice before a woman requested me to wait outside. I waited for 10 minutes, and I almost lost my patience. I knocked again. The lady opened the door. She could read my face. I was almost pissed off. As per the club rules, we cannot lock the main door. Rather than locking the changing room, she had locked the main door.

The moment I entered, the floor was wet and it was just hard to walk. Before I could give my feedback she apologised. I said, "It's fine".

I restrict talking to people, I do not know. I have created barriers within myself. My friends say - I have developed bitterness towards life. I correct them - I am just being protective or maybe I have lost confidence to trust people anymore. Somewhere Nirbhaya's case has made me feel unsafe or my own experiences have made me the way I am now!.:)

I did not ask her for clarification but she chose to clarify -

"My daughter is scared to take shower alone. She keeps the door open while she takes shower/change her clothes. She is hardly 8 years but after the gang rape, she is really scared. She does not step into her school bus, if I do not accompany her. She is scared of darkness now."

I could relate to the fear of that innocent child of 8 years. A question - what we want to give to our future generation - freedom or life of terror?

Maybe, the child is not scared of rape but she is scared of the brutal treatment that Nirbhaya went through. I cannot imagine all that can happen to anybody but she suffered it! I salute her strength and willpower!

Punishment to all the six rapists and strict law will give a ray of hope to many women and children who are scared. It will give them a feeling of security while travelling in their school buses. A small incident that made me feel sad for our future generation. Every girl/woman in India needs to learn - self-defense techniques. At least, you can protect yourself to an extent!

Think about the answer to my question - freedom or life of terror!

At Loss For Words.... (Contd.).....

When I blogged the post - http://doyouthinkyouareliving.blogspot.in/2013/01/at-loss-for-words.html in the morning, I was constantly thinking about a fact.

In India, in every home, a woman is mentally and emotionally raped by her own people. Now, the condition is little more severe, when doors are open for men to physically rape women in buses et al.

I realised from our childhood, we go through height of discrimination. Our brothers are given more importance and we are neglected, as we are meant to be married to another family. Is it our fault?

If you ask a pregnant woman - son or daughter? The instant response to your question would be - son in 85% cases!

The day you get married and your parents could not meet the requisite demands of your husband's family - your life is screwed up. You have two choices to listen or revolt. If you listen, you are heading to many major problems. If you revolt, you are shown the doors with a list of allegations.

God forbid, if you sponsor a child and you are childless then please get ready to be addressed as whatever you could have never imagined to be called - I am short of words here. Your family and world will not spare you. You are treated worse than anything!

Where shall we go, a question to all my readers in India? Can you change a bit of our lives and make us feel safe in our homes and on roads?

The religious leader spoke a hurtful and highly regretful statement about Nirbhaya case. He stated it was victim's fault as in any crime there are two parties to be blamed. The culprits should not be punished brutally. Indeed, the victim should have made the culprits as her 'brothers'.

Highly shameful to listen to all this! Firstly, rape is a word in English that clearly explains one forcing himself physically on someone else. So, there are no two people involved in this crime. Secondly, how can someone tell her rapists - please do not rape me, I will tie you a rakhi:). And, would the wolves like these 6 rapists would have understood this request. They were wolves disguised as 'men'.

A question - why is that we always find a reason to blame women in major rape cases?

Like, do not wear skimpy or western clothes. It prompts men.
Do not travel at night.
Do not travel in buses or autos
And now make the rapists as your brothers

If a rape happens two things are always clear - Woman would be at fault. She is designated as a prostitute or called names by people around. She is simply told in polished language - we cannot help you. She is considered as 'culprit' of selling herself rather than a victim of something highly shameful.

Think! Think! And Just Think!

It is high time to change and voice out our rights and opinions - strongly!

At a loss for words...............

After the 16th December gang rape, the never ending protest of safety of women in India, has portrayed our country as the most unsafe country on the world map.

Other than that the interview of Nirbhaya's friend highlighted the fear of a comman man to support them that night. People are scared to help others in our country and to an extent, they are justified. If you help, your family/identity is questioned. BUT, if one could not help them, could have arranged help by calling the ambulance or cops?

The behaviour and concern of cops towards two of them clearly indicates we have multiple loopholes in our safety and jurisdiction.  Nirbhaya died with a wish to punish her culprits. If situation is not controlled, we should be ready for many more such cases. One case shook the nation and many are still pending in the records of HC/SC for justice. A strict law is necessary.

Helplines : 181 for Delhi and 1091 for Bangalore cannot make a woman walking/travelling safe. Indeed, I just read in today's paper that 1091 for Bangalore (24*7) does not function on Sundays. Reason, the caller does not speak - English/Hindi but only Kannada as no officers are working on Sunday!....

At a loss for words, we never demand people visiting Delhi to speak in Punjabi etc. Why are people staying in southern part of the country ignored, if they cannot speak their language. Autorickshaws are a big nuisance here. They demand extra money, and if you do not speak Kannada, they know how to abuse one in their language.

Nirbhaya was an Indian. We all are fighting for justice together. We should look India as one. Stop this act of discrimination for the sake of improving the picture of India.

I have written that only one thing can stop rapes - the day, men will learn to change their attitude towards women. I do not know how but I hope!

But at the same time, I have immense respect for Nirbhaya's friend who is fighting for her. We need more people like him, who are not scared to help and fight for others.

R.I.P Nirbhaya!

Nirbhaya's journey of pain might have come to an end but the revolution that she started will not end here.

I am sad for the fact that she wanted to live and none of us could save her. Her indomitable will to live could only keep her alive for 13 days but Nirbaya will always live in our hearts. She will be remembered in the history of Indian Revolution for Women. A world of safety that we women demand.

Yesterday, we had a candle march at Whitefields and I was a part of it. I got a chance to express my views publicly. I saw a change in people's attitude of accepting a woman's voice. More than 100 people and majorly men were calmly listening to me. My only thought to Nirbhaya's case is - 'Change of mindset of a man' and I was happy that all the men were somewhere able to relate to it. I spoke about Aruna's case, the most painful journey of a woman who is still lying on the bed of a hospital in a vegetable state of mind.

I had and have only one appeal to every person in India - respect women!

It is easy to ne judgemental like wearing a skirt can lead to such social crimes. Strange, eh?

Even if we will stop wearing skirts and skimmpy clothes but what about our MPs who watch porn sitting in the Assembly. We are drifting from the main issue of 'safety of women and srtict law for raping a women'

Do not travel late at night. Again it is not feasible as we need to work and most of the jobs in India are as per US or UK shifts. Is it possible?

Can government create safe jobs for women in India?

Much above all of this we are taught to paint and dent ourselves. We are a democratic country and I think we have the right to live our lives the way we want.

Law will take lot of time as report will be submitted in 3 months. It will take months to get approved and by that time, 1000 more Nirbhaya(s) would have been raped(:

Yes, we can look at the fact of educating people but it is a slow process. We demand an immediate action against all 6 rapists. A strict punishment so that we do not have one more Nirbhaya in India.

A SINCERE REQUEST TO PEOPLE - If you see your female friend being harrassed or abused, stop it ! Raise a voice publicly to eveteasing. Change your mindset towards a woman. Any woman walking on the roads is like your friend, sister or mother.

I remember a comment that prompted me to scold a guy. I was in school and some teased me on the road saying 'Kya maal ja raha'.

It is a shameful statement as women is not a piece of flesh. She is the one who brings you in this world. So do not let Nirbhaya's death and pain go waste

I wish Nirbhaya gets JUSTICE!

A Day of Wish - Amen!!

A day with lot of work at my end, and I take a break to blog this post. I want this day to be a day of wish.

Most of the time, I have been blamed that I am unhappy, so I do not want others to be happy J. In short, people think I am jealous like a ‘witch’J.

I look up to God and think to ask ‘Why’? But I do not depend on this word, ‘Why’. If I ask ‘why’ that means my conscience is not clear. It means I doubt myself. The word ‘why’ is completely out of my dictionary, as it gives you confusion and leaves you hurt. So, bye-bye to ‘whys’….

If I was not concerned about people around me, I would have never blogged for two years. I read some of the emails in my inbox, where people have sent me wishes, and thanks for inspiring them. I myself go through pain, but I try to leave a positive post for my readers J.

Trust me, other than these emails, I am not getting anything. BUT a feeling that someone had a good day after reading my post J and that makes me happy J.

It has been years, I have not asked God for any wish for myself. I never felt. Today, I make a small wish that everyone in this world should be happy and get what he/she desires J.

A day to wish that everyone keeps smiling and their lives are blessed with love J. It is a day to tell that this blog is not my place to write, but place for my readers to read and feel good about life.

I wish every reader – a happy, healthy life.

Amen!

Day 8: Move On!

Day 8 of Navratri and I share a link from Art blog as below:

The best message on this day is ‘Keep Moving’. Conquer your fears and win over the challenges of life. After I completed this painting, I was thinking what could be the message delivered through it. My eyes as an observer could only see the ‘legs’ of all the three horses. I could only read the word ‘Move forward in life. Never look back’, while reading this painting.

To be happy, learn to move on……J

Day 2: Just Make a Wish..Amen!

I was little unwell and I was watching Kejriwal’s press conference. It was sad to know the real facts and the dirty image of politics. I felt restless (:

Anyways, it is second day of Navratri and I thought to share a small exercise before I hit the sack J

Close your eyes for few seconds.

Take a deep breath. Hold your breath and make a wish. A wish for someone you have seen sitting in a metro next to you; a wish for the guy who serves you coffee at the Cafe; a wish for someone you do not know as friend or family; JUST MAKE A WISH….

Release your breath with a word ‘Amen’!!

Let us make a wish for everyone to be healthy and happy. A wish that we will do good to others as we are only accountable for our actions.

A wish that the world becomes a better place to live with love and humanity. J

I just did my exercise and now it is your turn:)

Good Night!

Navratri Starts......

First day of Navratri and being in Delhi is a different experience. It has been 7 years; I have not seen ‘Navratri Celebrations’ in the northern part of the country J

My mother calls me an ‘Agnostic’. As I do not fast even for a day and am always least interested to visit religious places with her as I do not see God in idols. I do not worship idols BUT I respect them. Yes, visiting religious places help me to connect with myself and seek inner peace BUT chanting mantras in front of idols with a thought to impress God and ask for a wish in life never gets into my head.

I see many people around me who fast all these 9 days of Navratri and organize lavish puja at home followed by buffets as ‘prasadam’ (‘prasadam’ is prepared specifically for God and offered to His deity). This is not being closer to God. Pray, engage your mind in puja BUT rather than serving people at home, why not feed hungry children or spend few hours with old people at old age home. It is not being ‘philanthropist’ but being ‘kind to yourself’.

This Navratri, I want to celebrate few good elements that we are given by God on my blog rather than impressing my family, friends and God.

First day of Navratri starts with a good thought – ‘serve to mankind is service to God’.

Here are few quotes that I share as a part of this post.

”You are never giving, nor can you ever give, enough service.”
– James R. Cook

”You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals. To that end, each of us must work for our own improvement and, at the same time, share a general responsibility for all humanity, our particular duty being to aid those to whom we think we can be most useful.”
– Madame Marie Curie

”When you see a worthy person, endeavor to emulate him. When you see an unworthy person, then examine your inner self.”
– Confucius

The more you learn what to do with yourself, and the more you do for others, the more you will learn to enjoy the abundant life.”
– William Boetcker

”To serve is beautiful, but only if it is done with joy and a whole heart and a free mind.”
– Pearl S. Buck

”How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because some day in life you will have been all these.”
–
 George Washington Carver

Money is not the only means to serve to mankind but a gesture of love, hug, acceptance, patience, help and spending time with people can do wonders.

50 Shades of Grey - Banned?

50 Shades of Grey –

I downloaded this book from a pirated site. I want to read this book not because it has kinky stuff but to understand why it is banned J.

There are books on net or in libraries that have been on a longer shelf life irrespective of the content of the book.

As a writer and a reader,  I do not believe to restrict myself from exploring and experimenting with different books and content.

I read many links around ’50 shades of Grey’ being banned but one of them was somehow quite interesting and justified in supporting ‘not to ban’ this book.

I share the link with my readers -

I will enjoy reading this book as I have set no expectations from it and it is solely to understand why we support ‘Kamasutra’ but ban ’50 Shades of Grey’?

Sweet and Bitter: Charm Of Friendship

I was thinking what to write, tonight. Life is like a marathon as I have engaged myself into number of activities. Life is busy around yoga classes to writing for another product portfolio and then working on my second book. Not to forget, I just enrolled myself into art classes as well J. But when I retire at the end of the day, I try to think and formulate something useful for my readers from my real life.

What is friendship?

For me, it is like a journey with a person in real or virtual world where I accept the way one is born. Sometimes, we look for like-minded people as friends as it makes our life easy. But for me, it is opposite. I love my friends the way they are born and gifted to me. I cannot be a ‘Yes’ to ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ to ‘No’ kinds of a friend.

When two people of different nature and attitude meet, there are possibilities of argument and misunderstanding. In short, this is what makes a friendship to live. There is no relation in the world that is sweet all the time. Just like, we cannot live only on sweets. To satisfy our taste buds, we need to binge on sour or bitter stuff as well.

The real taste of any relationship is experienced when we have a combination of sweet, sour and bitter. Life is beautiful when you perceive it like that. Similarly, any relationship or friendship is beautiful or charming, if you perceive it that way. If you give more significance to mere bitter incidents, you cannot live your friendship. Every friend is unique and there is only one friend who comes in your life to change you or effect you or challenge you to change to a better friend J.

Friends are born to fight, love, kiss, hug and kick each other. All of them are true traits of friendship. If you get confused, close your eyes and just think about what all your friend has done to understand you as a friend.

Has he/she not followed your terms and conditions of friendship (though there should be no terms and conditions in friendship)?

Has he/she not fought for you many times with situations or your people for you?

Has he/she left you alone when you needed him/her the most?

Has he/she ever asked you a question ‘why’ to which he/she might be seeking an answer?

Do your manipulation and when you open your eyes, if you still think, your degree of bitterness is more than sweetness for your friend, just MOVE ON and never look back for your friend. Meet new people and make new friends J.

I have gone through a similar situation in life and maybe this post might help my friend to understand that friends are born to love and fight. They call each other names but they stand against the whole world to keep up their friendship.

Rest, at the end of the day, nothing is more important to me than my friend’s happiness. I will always pray my friends and my readers (who are more than my friends) should stay happy and blessed by God.

So live the sweetness and bitterness of your friendship. I wish, if any reader of mine has lost his/her friend out of ego or misunderstanding, must reunite. Friends are like diamonds – hard to earn and very expensive to lose J

Still you lost your friend then read this link - http://www.twainquotes.com/Friendship.html

HAPPY WORLD HEART DAY - CTRL+ALT+DEL!!

If you have given your heart someone (or if you are in love) then this is a day to take care of your heart J

It is World Heart Day, 2012 and let us dedicate this post to few tips that can help you to keep your healthy and fit.

I started following few tips that really made a difference to my outlook towards life and keeps me happy all the time.

I share these tips on my blog as a contribution to World Heart Day, 2012.

Stop Reacting to situations in life. Always act than react. Acting in the right manner to situations will give you solutions to handle them. Reacting is a key to worsen the worst situation.

Stop Ranting. Carry a big smile on your face even when you feel that nothing could be worse than this in your life. A single moment of anger gives immense pressure on your heart and mind. A calm mind is a way to happy heart J

Spread a message of love. Hug people who hate you. Embrace those who called you names. Kiss those who ignored you. This is the best lesson to spread the message of love. ‘Love is in the air’ is about spreading the message of love. A happy heart is a lovable heart.

Walk out of confrontations. If ignoring a situation or a person can give you happiness then nothing should be more important to you. Learn to walk out of confrontations as it will not benefit you or your heart in the long run. Placido, a simple word to remember, whenever you encounter a confrontation in life whether at work or home J

Accept the fact, ‘Nobody is perfect’. There is nobody in the world with a perfect life. Stop living and comparing your lives with others around you. This tends to confuse your heart which leads to blockage of arteries J. Live your life ‘King size’. You are the ‘King’ or ‘Queen’ of your ‘Life’.

Read a lot. Reading gives you insight to many true facts about life and living. Make sure you read one quote of an author on daily basis and try to inculcate that quote in your day in any of the ways. Try it till you make it.

Eat right. Eat everything that can make you feel happy but do not binge. Avoid emotional eating. Remember, if you are happy, you are not stressed and you will not feel craving for the wrong food termed as ‘Emotional Eating’. Happiness is a key to right diet and right diet is a key to healthy heart.

Exercise regularly. 45 minute of walk or 21 sun salutations or an hour of swimming, choice is all yours. But do exercise to keep yourself fit.

Quit smoking. A big ‘No’ to smoking and this should be your pledge on this day.

But these all tips are useful when you realize that your heart is important to you.

Just 3 keys to enjoy Life : CTRL+ALT+DEL.

1. Control yourself
2. Look for Alternative solutions
3. Delete the situation which gives you tension…!!

HAPPY WORLD HEART DAY!
