Tanka...Haiku...French Classes

It has been a long time I could not blog !

This blog is my baby and there are no doubts around this :)

Recently, I have seen a great time around my Tanka and Haiku submissions. I am getting good feedback in the groups that encourage me to write three Haiku a day. I am mulling over the idea to write a Haiku chapbook or start a daily blog - where I can post my work. I am more in favour of the blog. It will give a chance to Haiku poets/readers to read my work on daily basis. I have also joined a group of Haiku poets mainly of Israel and one of my ku got amazing feedback. I share it here with all my blog readers -:

I have submitted my Tanka to Whispers and Karen has enjoyed reading my work. She loves the rich imagery in my Tanka and the depth of my work. She has shortlisted them for the June publication.

Finally, I have found a French tutor and my classes will start from June 2014.

Amidst so much of work, I have also completed the first chapter of my new book. Just started with proofreading my work. I plan to be regular with my blogs. Thanks to all my readers who visit to increase the hits. We are just few hits behind 50k + mark.

1156 words.................

I am enjoying mangoes..mango shake, mango ice-creams, smoothies.....and also a song 'Ishq Bulaava' (you do not know when you get a call/invitation to fall in love....<3...) from one of the latest bollywood movies.

Yes, I have almost written 1156 words of my very first chapter of the book on the journey of life of KY Venkatesh. I am going slow as I want to do justice to the subject. Moreover, I cannot afford to strain my back either.

While writing the very first chapter, I have read some of the inspiring real life stories of paralympic winners. One such story that keeps me moving to write better is that of Robert M. Helsen. A quote written by him gives me inspiration to believe in myself, and the fact that 'I choose not to place "DIS", in my ability'.

I know I feel pain in doing many tasks. I know it affects my psychology many times in a day. I could not sleep for last so many months due to pain, and my life is not as normal as many others around me. Either pain or pills drive me to live BUT still I am living it, and will try to live better with a BIG SMILE. This is the reason, I want to take more than a year to write this book. I do not want to write for a reason but with a reason to write.

Anyways, a beautiful Haiku that got published on a blog dedicated to mother's day.

Happy Mother's Day 2014

A mother is a mother whether adopted, sponsored or biological!

Above line will always be remembered by me till I live. I am posting the poem 'Maa - The Mother' on my blog for all my readers who are proud mothers. This poem got published in my inspirational column and it was dedicated to my mother.

In the first kick of a baby
She feels a life in her womb
In those few seconds
She is overwhelmed with joy
Shine of her eyes
And a big grin on her face
She enjoys every bit of pampering
On the journey to motherhood .

Umbilical cord holds them together
In forty weeks of hide-and-seek
And then the day comes
When she holds her own baby
She kisses her countlessly
Looks at her in the daylight and the shade
Trying to understand – if she looks like her
As she is now a mother!

Tiring days and sleepless nights
She is always awake to feed
She talks to her baby in numb voice
And often tells her fairy tales
She holds her little fingers
Amid the daisy flowers
But she still waits for the day
When she will be called – ‘maa’

 With each passing day
She imagines her own childhood
From baby steps to tiny words
She captures every single move
One afternoon baby calls her – ‘maa’
And tears roll down her cheeks
She calls to tell her mother
As ‘maa’ still echoes in her ears.
