Where is Justice for Nirbhaya?
As per the recent updates, one of the rapists involved in '16th Dec Gang rape' and considered to be the most violent and brutal will be walking freely on the roads of Delhi, soon!
Without getting his bone test done and just on the basis of 'school certificate' (that maybe fake), he is considered as juvenile. Surprised!
This is a situation where I feel to write - 'law is actually being misused!'. All these days, people were waiting for justice but what they get to read, definitely hurts them. It hurts me too!
We need a change in our system. Else very soon, victims will start punishing culprits rather than reporting the crime. We might lose faith in our law. Justice is a way to believe in your country.
We are still waiting.......

Republic Day - Let Me Not Forget!
Republic Day - 40 days after the gang-rape and fast track jurisdiction, we are celebrating our 'Republic Day'. A nigerian author and my friend has recently written a book in which he has included 16th December gang rape. He told me about it; it was not a proud moment for me.
After Nirbhaya's case, many other cases also got highlighted or spotted! Any country is republic and independent, in the real sense - when every national feels secure and safe!
Today, I am just expecting two things from our constitution - safety for women and a strict law for rapists in India. Let India show it to the world - women are safe here. We elect our people to show us the right path; to help us in punishing the culprits. If not now, then when?
A peom by Rabindranath Tagore - Let Me Not Forget!
If it is not my portion to meet thee in this life
then let me ever feel that I have missed thy sight
---let me not forget for a moment,
let me carry the pangs of this sorrow in my dreams
and in my wakeful hours.
As my days pass in the crowded market of this world
and my hands grow full with the daily profits,
let me ever feel that I have gained nothing
---let me not forget for a moment,
let me carry the pangs of this sorrow in my dreams
and in my wakeful hours.
When I sit by the roadside, tired and panting,
when I spread my bed low in the dust,
let me ever feel that the long journey is still before me
---let me not forget a moment,
let me carry the pangs of this sorrow in my dreams
and in my wakeful hours.
When my rooms have been decked out and the flutes sound
and the laughter there is loud,
let me ever feel that I have not invited thee to my house
---let me not forget for a moment,
let me carry the pangs of this sorrow in my dreams
and in my wakeful hours
then let me ever feel that I have missed thy sight
---let me not forget for a moment,
let me carry the pangs of this sorrow in my dreams
and in my wakeful hours.
As my days pass in the crowded market of this world
and my hands grow full with the daily profits,
let me ever feel that I have gained nothing
---let me not forget for a moment,

My New Poem - 'You Will Be Fine'!!
I wrote a new poem dedicated to my friend, who died of cancer in the month of November, 2012.
http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/you-will-be-fine/
http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/you-will-be-fine/
I understood one thing about life - it is not an easy journey. One has to be strong to face unpredictable challenges, and still move on!
For any patient suffering with any ailment only one line can do miracles - 'You Will Be Fine!'
Please do not talk to people to express your mercy or sympathy. Like me, they do not need it!
If you really care, love them and encourage them by saying - 'You will be fine, my dear!'
Happy Weekend!
26th January...Clouds and Waves!
A poem for 26th January. The mother sounds like 'India' and the child for sounds like 'a proud national of India'. What a beautiful relationship between mother and child!
Rabindranath Tagore - Clouds and Waves
Mother, the folk who live up in the clouds call out to me-
"We play from the time we wake till the day ends.
We play with the golden dawn, we play with the silver moon."
I ask, "But how am I to get up to you ?"
They answer, "Come to the edge of the earth, lift up your
hands to the sky, and you will be taken up into the clouds."
"My mother is waiting for me at home, "I say, "How can I leave
her and come?"
Then they smile and float away.
But I know a nicer game than that, mother.
I shall be the cloud and you the moon.
I shall cover you with both my hands, and our house-top will
be the blue sky.
The folk who live in the waves call out to me-
"We sing from morning till night; on and on we travel and know
not where we pass."
I ask, "But how am I to join you?"
They tell me, "Come to the edge of the shore and stand with
your eyes tight shut, and you will be carried out upon the waves."
I say, "My mother always wants me at home in the everything-
how can I leave her and go?"
They smile, dance and pass by.
But I know a better game than that.
I will be the waves and you will be a strange shore.
I shall roll on and on and on, and break upon your lap with
laughter.
And no one in the world will know where we both are.

Dovey: Yes, You Are Crazy!
I am training my new white bird named as 'Dovey'. I let him fly and sit at diiferent places. He is responding pretty good to my training. I thought of a 'Coca Cola' commercial while recording this video - 'Yes, I am crazy'. I love Dovey as he is a very warm and compassionate bird!

3 Elements of Life - Past, Present and Future!
There are three elements of life - past, present and future. Our life oscillate between past memories and future projections. At times, we miss people and at times, we want to forget. At times, we look forward to a new life; at times we are happy to be in present.
A poem I read and would like to post on my blog written by Emily Dickinson:
A poem I read and would like to post on my blog written by Emily Dickinson:
Let us Play Yesterday
by: Emily Dickinson
Let Us play Yesterday –
I — the Girl at school –
You — and Eternity — the
Untold Tale –
I — the Girl at school –
You — and Eternity — the
Untold Tale –
Easing my famine
At my Lexicon –
Logarithm — had I — for Drink –
‘Twas a dry Wine –
At my Lexicon –
Logarithm — had I — for Drink –
‘Twas a dry Wine –
Somewhat different — must be –
Dreams tint the Sleep –
Cunning Reds of Morning
Make the Blind — leap –
Dreams tint the Sleep –
Cunning Reds of Morning
Make the Blind — leap –
Still at the Egg-life –
Chafing the Shell –
When you troubled the Ellipse –
And the Bird fell –
Chafing the Shell –
When you troubled the Ellipse –
And the Bird fell –
Manacles be dim — they say –
To the new Free –
Liberty — Commoner –
Never could — to me –
To the new Free –
Liberty — Commoner –
Never could — to me –
‘Twas my last gratitude
When I slept — at night –
‘Twas the first Miracle
Let in — with Light –
When I slept — at night –
‘Twas the first Miracle
Let in — with Light –
Can the Lark resume the Shell –
Easier — for the Sky –
Wouldn’t Bonds hurt more
Than Yesterday?
Easier — for the Sky –
Wouldn’t Bonds hurt more
Than Yesterday?
Wouldn’t Dungeons sorer frate
On the Man — free –
Just long enough to taste –
Then — doomed new –
On the Man — free –
Just long enough to taste –
Then — doomed new –
God of the Manacle
As of the Free –
Take not my Liberty
Away from Me –
As of the Free –
Take not my Liberty
Away from Me –

Are you my crackpot friend?
This is a very inspiring story, forwarded to me by my reader, as an email. Please READ THIS. I do not have a flawless life but I am happy with my flaws as they have always been my driving force!
An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck.
One of the pots had a crack in it, while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.
At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.
For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water.
Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments.
But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.
After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house."
The old woman smiled, "Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?"
"That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them."
"For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table.
Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house."
Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding.
You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.
So, to all of my crackpot friends, have a great day and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path!
Simple blood test can help diagnose arthritis early!
I have posted the same post on my arthritis blog as well. Any research around Arthritis gives me hope to share and be hopeful. In my case, it might not be helpful as I do not suffer of rheumatoid arthritis. I do not know, how far it is hopeful for Osteoarthritis. But it is good to be posted around any research in the field of Arthritis.

Engage Your Mind!
I am surviving on rasgullas. To curb the metallic taste, I feed mainly on rasgullas. I love rasmalai more than rasgullas. Every time, I go to buy rasgullas (in last few days), I feel to pick rasmalai. But no milk for me!
Rasmalai reminds me of some good moments - how I read the recipe and made many of them for a friend, once in my life. Some good memories; whenever I look at rasmalai, a smile comes on my face and I move to the next counter. But I cannot eat them anymore!
The best solution to handle any medical condition - engage your mind!

The best solution to handle any medical condition - engage your mind!
I could not sleep last night due to poking stomach pain. I got up at 3 am and started crying. It was unbearable. I thought to get admitted and opt for an injection. But, I started chanting gayatri mantra. After a while, I slept and felt much better.
Since I got up, I thought to engage my mind in various things that do not need my attention but will help me to forget my condition. If you are alone at home, you tend to think more about your problems. You cannot expect your family to be all the time with you. They have commitments on the basis of which you get treatment - job, money and treatment.
I cleaned all the french windows, balcony grills and windows of my apartment. I cooked my own food and relished with coconut water. My tongue has lost its taste buds and I feel metallic till my food pipe.
But engaging my mind in my household work helped me. Though, I am feeling weak and fatigue but I am still trying to occupy myself.
It is a post that might help anyone to feel little better once you engage your mind. As my doctors have specified my mind as a hyperactive mind that works like a scanner. It scans every good/bad memory, dates, names, faces, and that is going against my personality type and my health.
Mind is a creator of problems but it also helps us to find a solution. It is like you need to understand your mind. You can use a knife to cut veggies and at the same time for destructive purposes. Your mind works like a knife.
Choice is yours!

My Poem - Let Us Cook Together!
I have been quite unwell. When you are facing a tough situation in your life, you tend to think as a differnt person. After complete loss of energy, I wrote this poem with a thought around life - a beautiful gift of God!
World is such a great place to be born and live!
The poem is around cooking a meal that is creating a world as an ideal place to live. I am trying to convey a message of creating a world that is free of traits like ego, jealousy, hatred and disrimination. A thought of creating a world where people should learn to forgive to stay happy; follow the path of love and kindness to add sweetness in their lives.
Blind!
Right now, I am in a very bad shape. But I share a poem that really touched my heart.
A very meaningful message by the poet - Harry Kemp.
A very meaningful message by the poet - Harry Kemp.
The Spring blew trumpets of color;
Her Green sang in my brain --
I heard a blind man groping
"Tap -- tap" with his cane;
I pitied him in his blindness;
But can I boast, "I see"?
Perhaps there walks a spirit
Close by, who pities me, --
A spirit who hears me tapping
The five-sensed cane of mind
Amid such unguessed glories --
That I am worse than blind.
Her Green sang in my brain --
I heard a blind man groping
"Tap -- tap" with his cane;
I pitied him in his blindness;
But can I boast, "I see"?
Perhaps there walks a spirit
Close by, who pities me, --
A spirit who hears me tapping

Amid such unguessed glories --
That I am worse than blind.

One minute mother!
It was a day of festival. I always celebrated Sankranti for the last 7 years. I miss Hyderabad(:
But today, it was not the same. I did not lit a lamp in my temple or made any sweets. I opened my eyes and tears rolled down my face. Confused!
No prayers or wishes for myself like always. Just upset with myself and lot of anger within myself. Whenever I am angry I fight with my mother. Liberty of being a daughter to the world's best mom!
I got a book written by my favourite author Spencer Johnson - One Minute Mother. I almost read 28 pages of this book. It is a good book for mothers who would like to read around 'parenting'.
I did not write any writeups for last two days. Maybe, I will start from tomorrow.
As a day of festival, I wish all of you a healthy life.
God shall bless all!

Freedom or Life of Terror!
What we want to give to our future generation - freedom or life of terror?
A question we might have to answer to our children.
I went for swimming and could not enter the changing room. I knocked twice before a woman requested me to wait outside. I waited for 10 minutes, and I almost lost my patience. I knocked again. The lady opened the door. She could read my face. I was almost pissed off. As per the club rules, we cannot lock the main door. Rather than locking the changing room, she had locked the main door.
The moment I entered, the floor was wet and it was just hard to walk. Before I could give my feedback she apologised. I said, "It's fine".
I restrict talking to people, I do not know. I have created barriers within myself. My friends say - I have developed bitterness towards life. I correct them - I am just being protective or maybe I have lost confidence to trust people anymore. Somewhere Nirbhaya's case has made me feel unsafe or my own experiences have made me the way I am now!.:)
I did not ask her for clarification but she chose to clarify -
"My daughter is scared to take shower alone. She keeps the door open while she takes shower/change her clothes. She is hardly 8 years but after the gang rape, she is really scared. She does not step into her school bus, if I do not accompany her. She is scared of darkness now."
I could relate to the fear of that innocent child of 8 years. A question - what we want to give to our future generation - freedom or life of terror?
Maybe, the child is not scared of rape but she is scared of the brutal treatment that Nirbhaya went through. I cannot imagine all that can happen to anybody but she suffered it! I salute her strength and willpower!
Punishment to all the six rapists and strict law will give a ray of hope to many women and children who are scared. It will give them a feeling of security while travelling in their school buses. A small incident that made me feel sad for our future generation. Every girl/woman in India needs to learn - self-defense techniques. At least, you can protect yourself to an extent!
Think about the answer to my question - freedom or life of terror!

A New Video on my Youtube Channel!
These two are made for each other. Have a look!
About the video:
Cheerio!
Love is an unspoken language. Short and simple love story of Gracia and Luna:)
About the video:
A Video to tell that 'Love is beyond barriers'. Birds also have emotions and they do not need a free sky to fly and love. Gracia is the yellow bird inside the cage. I took my favourite white bird 'Luna' out of the cage (actually their home). She had the choice to fly and be a free bird. But she chose to go back to the cage. I loved the efforts of Gracia to get Luna inside their home. He was restless inside the cage and the video shows that. You need to live and love the feeling of being in 'LOVE'. I love their love - Gracia and Luna:)
Cheerio!

Mournful Moment!!
"Kehte hain din ke 24 ghante main ek dua zaroor qubool hoti hain. Meri dua hain mera rab mujhe agala janam main beti mat banane." - Amen!!!
After reading the tribute of legend Amitabh Bachan to Delhi rape victim, I am really moved. I am crying while I blog the poem for my readers in India.
I almost burst into tears. Every line somewhere touched a chord. A moment where you feel claustrophobic!
Few lines, I read about Nirbhaya, and I share it on my blog. I feel mournful!
Maa bahut Dard sah kar..
bahut dard de kar..
tujhse kuch kah kar main jaa rahi hoon........
Aaj meri vidai main jab Sakhiyaan milne aayengi...
Safaid Jode main lipti dekh sisak sisak mar jayengi...
Ladki hone ka khud pe fir wo Afsos jatayengi.....
Maa tu unse itna kah dena Darindo k duniya main Sambhal kar rahna...............
Maa Raakhi par jb Bhaiya Kalai suni rah jayegi..
yaad mujhe kar kar jab unki Aankh bhar ayegi....
Tilak mathe par karne ko Maa rooh meri bhi Machal jayegi...
Maa tu bhaiya ko rone na dena...
Main sath hu har Pal unse kah dena............
bahut dard de kar..
tujhse kuch kah kar main jaa rahi hoon........
Aaj meri vidai main jab Sakhiyaan milne aayengi...

Wo Abhimaan hai mera samman hai mera..
tu unse itna kah dena........

Shukriya Zindagi!
What am I reading these days?
I am reading a book - 'Finding Your Strength in Difficult Times' by David Viscott. Interesting and simple things that the author has shared in this book. Every chapter delivers a message. I may take couple of more weeks to complete this book. I am busy writing my book as well. It does not matter, if I get a publisher to publish it. What makes me happy at the moment is - I am engaged in my work. I am giving my 100% to this book.
The idea is my readers should get a chance to read my book. Money/royalty does not matter to me, anymore!
Yes, I feel good when my readers who read my first book - '14 Pearls of Inspiration' shared their feedback. I never thought it would be so much appreciated and acknowledged. One common feedback was - 'You made me cry. It is a very emotional book. Every story touched my heart'. (my mother, husband, husband's friends, my friends, my neighbours and many others had the same feedback.)
I share lyrics of a very inspiring song - Shukriya Zindagi
Chan ke aayi toh kya chaandni toh mili
Chan ke aayi toh kya chaandni toh mili
Chand din hi sahi yeh kali to khili
Shukriya zindagi -
Teri meharbaaniyan, teri meharbaaniyan
Shukriya zindagi -
Sirf ik rang se tasveer hoti kahin
Gham nahi toh khushi ki keemat nahi
Sirf ik rang se tasveer hoti kahin
Gham nahi toh khushi ki keemat nahi
Dhoop chaaon hain dono toh dilkash jahaan
Kya shikaayat karein, fursat kahaan
Shukriya zindagi -
Teri mehrbaaniyan, teri mehrbaaniyan
Shukriya zindagi -
Apni taqdeer ki hai yeh daastaan
Kabhi qatilaana, kabhi meharbaan
Apni taqdeer ki hai yeh daastaan
Kabhi qatilaana, kabhi meharbaan
Meharbaani jo dil ko karaar aa gaya
Apne qaatil pe bhi pyaar aa gaya
Shukriya zindagi -
Teri mehrbaaniyan, teri mehrbaaniyan
Shukriya zindagi -

At Loss For Words.... (Contd.).....
When I blogged the post - http://doyouthinkyouareliving.blogspot.in/2013/01/at-loss-for-words.html in the morning, I was constantly thinking about a fact.
In India, in every home, a woman is mentally and emotionally raped by her own people. Now, the condition is little more severe, when doors are open for men to physically rape women in buses et al.
I realised from our childhood, we go through height of discrimination. Our brothers are given more importance and we are neglected, as we are meant to be married to another family. Is it our fault?
If you ask a pregnant woman - son or daughter? The instant response to your question would be - son in 85% cases!
The day you get married and your parents could not meet the requisite demands of your husband's family - your life is screwed up. You have two choices to listen or revolt. If you listen, you are heading to many major problems. If you revolt, you are shown the doors with a list of allegations.
God forbid, if you sponsor a child and you are childless then please get ready to be addressed as whatever you could have never imagined to be called - I am short of words here. Your family and world will not spare you. You are treated worse than anything!
Where shall we go, a question to all my readers in India? Can you change a bit of our lives and make us feel safe in our homes and on roads?
The religious leader spoke a hurtful and highly regretful statement about Nirbhaya case. He stated it was victim's fault as in any crime there are two parties to be blamed. The culprits should not be punished brutally. Indeed, the victim should have made the culprits as her 'brothers'.
Highly shameful to listen to all this! Firstly, rape is a word in English that clearly explains one forcing himself physically on someone else. So, there are no two people involved in this crime. Secondly, how can someone tell her rapists - please do not rape me, I will tie you a rakhi:). And, would the wolves like these 6 rapists would have understood this request. They were wolves disguised as 'men'.
A question - why is that we always find a reason to blame women in major rape cases?
Like, do not wear skimpy or western clothes. It prompts men.
Do not travel at night.
Do not travel in buses or autos
And now make the rapists as your brothers
If a rape happens two things are always clear - Woman would be at fault. She is designated as a prostitute or called names by people around. She is simply told in polished language - we cannot help you. She is considered as 'culprit' of selling herself rather than a victim of something highly shameful.
Think! Think! And Just Think!
It is high time to change and voice out our rights and opinions - strongly!
At a loss for words...............
After the 16th December gang rape, the never ending protest of safety of women in India, has portrayed our country as the most unsafe country on the world map.
Other than that the interview of Nirbhaya's friend highlighted the fear of a comman man to support them that night. People are scared to help others in our country and to an extent, they are justified. If you help, your family/identity is questioned. BUT, if one could not help them, could have arranged help by calling the ambulance or cops?
The behaviour and concern of cops towards two of them clearly indicates we have multiple loopholes in our safety and jurisdiction. Nirbhaya died with a wish to punish her culprits. If situation is not controlled, we should be ready for many more such cases. One case shook the nation and many are still pending in the records of HC/SC for justice. A strict law is necessary.
Helplines : 181 for Delhi and 1091 for Bangalore cannot make a woman walking/travelling safe. Indeed, I just read in today's paper that 1091 for Bangalore (24*7) does not function on Sundays. Reason, the caller does not speak - English/Hindi but only Kannada as no officers are working on Sunday!....
At a loss for words, we never demand people visiting Delhi to speak in Punjabi etc. Why are people staying in southern part of the country ignored, if they cannot speak their language. Autorickshaws are a big nuisance here. They demand extra money, and if you do not speak Kannada, they know how to abuse one in their language.
Nirbhaya was an Indian. We all are fighting for justice together. We should look India as one. Stop this act of discrimination for the sake of improving the picture of India.
I have written that only one thing can stop rapes - the day, men will learn to change their attitude towards women. I do not know how but I hope!
But at the same time, I have immense respect for Nirbhaya's friend who is fighting for her. We need more people like him, who are not scared to help and fight for others.

My Second Poem - Let Me Be Born!
This poem is an
effort to express a thought – ‘Say No to Female Foeticide’. In the poem, a
female fetus is expressing her desire to live and come into this world. Sex
determination of fetus is legally banned in India. Female Feticide is the act of aborting a fetus because
it is female. This is a major social problem in India. As per Wikipedia
statistics, it is estimated that
more than ten million female fetuses have been illegally aborted in India.
Researchers for the Lancet journal based in Canada and India stated that
500,000 girls were being lost annually through sex selective abortions.
I tried to feel what would be the desires of a female fetus
and ‘Let Me Be Born’ is a poem dedicated to this social problem of ‘Female
Feticide’ in India.
It is a sin more than a crime. I took two days to write this poem with complete dedication. When my husband read it, I could see tears in his eyes. I asked him, "Was it so boring that you cried?"....LOL:)
It touched him maybe his soul or his heart or as a reader he liked it..my weird guesses?

A New Year - Year of Hope
What a beautiful day
The blue sky
The sun bright rays
The wind blowing
The trees swaying
The smell of flowers
What a beautiful day
Fill with happiness
Peace
Hear the kids laughing and playing
People talking
What a beautiful day
The night falls
The dark skies
The moon glows
As crime begins
What a dark night
Filled with crime
Drugs
Violence
Shootings
Killings
Hear sirens
Hear guns going off
Hear crying
Hear fighting
As the sun comes out
What a beautiful day
