Be the Best of Whatever You Are!

In life we usually compare ourselves to other people. It is pretty natural that there needs to be competition to surviveJ

But when you compare yourself with others always make sure that you are just a spectator of their success to benchmark your life but you do not know what kind of journey they had to reach where you see them today!

The competition is difficult when you have to compete with yourself. It is rightly said, you cannot create an army against yourselfJ

It is not important to be what others are but very vital to be what you can be. Body is made up of atoms that make a molecule and then a compound. If you cannot be a compound then do not hesitate to be an atom. What matters is that be the best of whatever you are!

Two days from now, I will complete a year of blogging and we will celebrate the First Anniversary of this blog. This poem is a contribution to the concept – ‘So You Think You Are Living’. I loved this poem ‘Be the best of whatever you are’ by ‘Douglas Malloch’

If you can't be a pine on the top of the hill
Be a scrub in the valley--but be
The best little scrub by the side of the rill;
Be a bush if you can't be a tree.
If you can't be a bush be a bit of the grass,
And some highway some happier make;
If you can't be a muskie then just be a bass--
But the liveliest bass in the lake!

We can't all be captains, we've got to be crew,
There's something for all of us here.
There's big work to do and there's lesser to do,
And the task we must do is the near.

If you can't be a highway then just be a trail,
If you can't be the sun be a star;
It isn't by size that you win or you fail--
Be the best of whatever you are!
