World Environment Day 2011 - Struggle of Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare!!

Where India is being the host of ‘World Environment Day 2011’ on 5th June 2011, we have people like Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare struggling to curb corruption in our country.

I have always looked up to Baba Ramdev for his contribution in creating awareness around the globe for yoga and its medicinal values. He has not been a reason to cure many people suffering with aliments but also brought a revolution with the word ‘Yoga’ in India and around the globe. His selfless services cannot be ignored. But what Baba Ramdev is fighting for us now has given him a new platform and position in the eyes of every Indian. He is fasting for the right of each one of us – curb corruption.

To know more in detail follow the link below.

Please forward this post link to as many people you can so that we all can join Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare in their struggle for us. A better environment for our coming generation has to be corruption free other than pollution free or Go Green slogans!!!

Let us join hands for Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare this World Environment Day.

What Are You Waiting For...Just Compliment...

Last two days I have been writing about things that are simple and can be useful to make your environment worth living.

What Makes Your Environment?

If you have read the above post let me move to next message for this World Environment Day 2011.

I went for a lunch buffet with my family last Saturday. A good food really helps to get rid of your healing process. My foot wanted me to concentrate on other factors rather than my stitches. What is better than a variety of cuisines that you can binge on and gain few calories for a whileJ

I met one of my ex-colleague and the first thing she said was “Archana, I read your blog and you really write well. You make me feel inspired”.

I met her after 4 years and she has a daughter now. I felt so happy that people are following my writings though we hardly spoke to each other in these four years. The very same day, a friend called from Delhi and said something similar that he finds couple of my stories very interesting. I felt so much special on that day. BUT WHY?

Very simple we all want to hear what we want to hear.

Positive things about us make us feel contended and happy. Actually, we all look forward to compliments. I might not be the best writer and very great blogger but few compliments made me feel so good of me. The whole day I was energetic, optimistic and happy.

That is what I realised that we should compliment people around us. It is much stronger than just giving a smile to someone while walking on the road. If you see someone wearing a nice dress compliment irrespective of the factor you know her or not. Trust me you will make so many friends like that and will spread happiness. To be happy make others happy and then you will see the difference in your environment.

The day I compliment my housekeeping lady she does everything perfectly for the next three daysJ

Compliments also motivate people. It is a very simple technique to connect with others and nourish your environmentJ

Try it!

At least compliment one person today after reading this post. You will see the difference!

Do you Dust Your Life???

Remember...a
layer of dust protects the Wood beneath it.

'A
house becomes
a
home when
you can write 'I love you' on
the
furniture.'

I used to spend at least 8 hours every weekend
making sure things were just perfect - 'in case
someone came over'
Finally
I realized one day that no-one came over; they
were all out living life and having
fun!??

NOW,
when
people visit,
I don't have
to explain
the 'condition' of
my home.

They are more interested in hearing about the things
I've been doing while I was away living life and
having fun.
If you haven't
figured this out yet, please heed this advice.

Life is short. Enjoy it!

Dust if you must..........

but
wouldn't it be better to paint a picture or
write a letter,

bake
cookies or a cake and lick
the spoon or plant a seed,

ponder
the difference between want and
need?!

Dust if you must,

but
there's not much time . . . .

with
beer to drink , rivers to swim and mountains to
climb
,
music
to hear and books to read, friends to cherish
and life to lead.

Dust if you must,

but
the world's out there with the sun in your
eyes,

the wind in your hair,

a flutter of snow, a shower of rain.

This
day will not come around,
again.

Dust if you must,

but bear in mind, old age
will come and it's not kind. . .

And
when you go - and go you must - you, yourself
will make more dust!

A good environment is when you don’t dust your life by spending on things that need no attention!!!

What makes your Environment???

Ciao
If you read the morning post –  Motlo Perfetto - Very Perfect!!
Let us move to the next message for World Environment Day 2011.

I have been very emotional in my life. Words like family, cousins and relations have been the core strength of my lifeJ

The more I went closer to these words the more people walked away from me. People left without telling where I went wrong. I was heartbroken and so much effected that I landed to hospital.

Post hospitalisation, my doctor called me to discuss what is that in my heart that was bothering me and I being broken could not stop myself sharing. I cried and cried and cried.

My doctor did not stop me and said ‘Cry as much as you want, it is a good exercise, it is a natural cleanser for your mind and soul’.

I really felt better and much lighter. He just said one thing that touched me –

“When people walk out of your lives, they are creating place for others. If you will fill the bucket with same water that is not being changed it will start stinking. The rule of life is to change the water and refill the fresh one to maintain the hygiene and beauty of life. Who left should not matter but who stayed with you should matter. Who left should not matter but who will fill that place should matter. Do not hold grudges for those who left as they had their justified reasons but think of them with the best memory associated with them. There should not be any form of rancor. Learn to disconnect people for mutual peace and harmony. It will help everyone.”

I kept thinking and started working on what he said. It has been years, I am not that perfect but since last June I am master in what he said. There are 2 messages for all of you:

If you feel left out then look around there are spaces in your life that will be filled with the right person/friends/family etc. People say we cannot select family but can select friends. Trust me I am very fortunate as God gave me a chance to select family as well. If you lost your family or do not have one then whenever and wherever you find your family SAVE IT.

Crying is not a crime. It is not a weakness but a process to tell that you have emotions and you are human. Those who do not cry are the most unfortunate ones as they will not understand the worth of smileJ...so if you feel low then cry loudly and take everything out of you.

If you think your presence effects people and their lives in emotional ways that may hamper their lives or relationships then learn to disconnect for good of your people whom you would not like to harm. Distance does not mean hatred, it means peace for your loved ones in certain cases.

A good environment is one where you and your loved ones are happyJ

Molto Perfetto - Very Perfect????

I am having my usual morning tea – I love green tea with lemon, a good start for a wonderful day!

5th June is World Environment Day and for me there are various factors that contribute to environment. Definitely, for me environment is just not contributing to surroundings but contributing to lives of people that make an environment. A health tip or a small smile to someone in misery can make them happy that will be my contribution to World Environment Day – 2011.

From today until 5th June 2011, I will post something from my real life to contribute to your lives.

Someone asked me whenever he questions me “How are you?” my answer remains the same “I am perfect like always”. No matter my foot is bandaged and I am limping than walking but still my answer is always the same “I am perfect, as Italians say ‘Molto Perfetto’ (Very Perfect)”.

If pain is the synonym of perfect, then I am ‘Perfect’. In short, I have pain through the year. I do not remember the day when I had no pain. So for me if pain is a problem then the synonym for my problem/pain is ‘PERFECT’J

Every time I say, I am perfect I mean I am in pain but the word perfect has taken over the word pain and I feel so much convinced mentally that I feel no pain while answering the question ‘How are you?’

I feel perfect and pain free when I answer this question as everything is mind-driven. If you substitute your problems with words like ‘perfect’, ‘everything is great’, ‘doing awesome’, you win over half of your problem.

For e.g.: If you had a bad day in the office and someone asked you at home – ‘How was your day?’

What will you say – the whole saga? Trust me people can only empathise and moreover why to burden them with your bad day story. Tell them, the day was great and had good time with people at office. It might not make a difference to them but a lot to you. Like you will feel good that you have not carried office to home and a bad day does not mean bad night. Look the problem with a different angle of optimism. Words and thoughts can do a lot for you. Pour the right thought to your mind and see the difference. This is just an example.

Try it someday and you will see how you contribute to your life and environment. A good environment is more mind-driven than physical-driven.

So first message is replace the word ‘Problem’ with ‘Perfect’..

We all are born perfect and perfection lies in being ‘Imperfect’...

World No Tobacco Day...Its Today!!!!

Before you read the morning post – The Best Thing In The World

Read this. It is World No Tobacco Day. Promise not to consume tobacco atleast for today. But still I advise to quit smoking and other tobacco consumptions. It will do nothing good to you or your family. Yes, one thing is sure you will land up to respiratory and other related problems. Why to invite problems for no reasons?

SAY YES TO LIFE and NO TO TOBACCO!
All will be the best in the world if you quit it now! Sooner the Better!

Love you all

The Best Thing In The World

By Elizabeth Barrett Browning

What's the best thing in the world?
June-rose, by May-dew impearled;
Sweet south-wind, that means no rain;
Truth, not cruel to a friend;
Pleasure, not in haste to end;
Beauty, not self-decked and curled
Till its pride is over-plain;
Light, that never makes you wink;
Memory, that gives no pain;
Love, when, so, you're loved again.
What's the best thing in the world?
—Something out of it, I think.
Just feel each word of this poem.
