World No Tobacco Day – 31st May, 2012

I posted around World No Tobacco Day in 2011 as well. There is not much changed around me but one thing that I have quit smoking and it is a great feeling within meJ

I will not write an essay but just a question to all my readers – what is that you can contribute to World No Tobacco Day – 31st May, 2012?

If you eat well, sleep on time but smoke even a single cigarette, your all efforts are wasted. Think before you lit the one todayJ. Don’t Quit it for a day but foreverJ

Weave a New Blanket!

Finally, I welcome Bangalore. My friend used to say ‘The day you get new mobile number in the city you stay, you should welcome that place’. I got my new number and I welcome Bangalore.

Before I blog, my sincere thanks to all the friends for sending lovely messages on receipt of my new mobile number. I felt CHARGED!!

Last few days were like a boat in no water. I was quite negative about my stay and was just LOST!

My neighbour uncle told me something that touched my heart. He said so convincingly, “Hyderabad is like a blanket that you should wear BUT start weaving a new blanket of Bangalore. Wear memories of Hyderabad but weave new memories now”.

After his words, I stopped crying and got back to my home. I closed my eyes and thought of Guruji. I realised for some while, I got into an Emotional mode. Maybe, I forgot, E for Emotions has no place in my life. If I get emotional, I will feel my disability J

I decided to complete the decor of my home and get back to my workouts and work. Trust me, it all worked, as I was POSITIVE. It is rightly said, ‘it is all in the mind not heart’.

I am convinced and positive that life needs to move. We cannot stay like stable water of a pond.

I kicked a new chapter and I hope it is as interesting as HyderabadJ

Mother To Son by Langston Hughes

Mother’s Day, a day, I could not blog due to relocation commitments. But I read something that took my heart for a whileJ

I blog it, to share a feeling that ‘Mother is the best gift of nature’ and ‘To be a mother is the best gift to nature’.

For my mother and all the proud mothers, I met in the journey of my lifeJ

Mother To Son by Langston Hughes • 89 poems - Langston Hughes • 89 poemsby Langston Hughes
Well, son, I'll tell you:
Life for me ain't been no crystal stair.
It's had tacks in it,
And splinters,
And boards torn up,
And places with no carpet on the floor—
Bare.
But all the time
I'se been a-climbin' on,
And reachin' landin's,
And turnin' corners,
And sometimes goin' in the dark
Where there ain't been no light.
So, boy, don't you turn back.
Don't you set down on the steps.
'Cause you finds it's kinder hard.
Don't you fall now—
For I'se still goin', honey,
I'se still climbin',
And life for me ain't been no crystal stair.

Just hug your mother and tell her how special you feel to be her daughter or son. There is no better or bigger gift than thisJ

A Video - It Touched Me!!

I reached Bangalore and almost settled. I love this city and there are many things to share but I start the new life in a new city with a message and learning for all IndiansJ

I started working, when I was hardly 15 and I always thought – Every work/job is noble. The biggest asset of any job is education. I value money because I earned the hardest wayJ

I was watching DID (Dance India Dance) and the audition of this little child made me feel that still many of our children are deprived of education. Please watch this video and take a pledge that we have to educate each child of India. As I blogged, in one of my post – EDUCATE THEM RATHER THAN HIRE THEM!!

Hats off to Sumit for his dedication and to his teacher who is training without charging any fees. We need more people like him!

Farewell Message: Good Bye Hyderabad :)

Before my readers, read this post, I know I have to gift my readers from Hyderabad, a Farewell Gift. I am working on it so wait a bit. The day I reach Bangalore, you can see your gift here on my blog.J

"You never leave someone behind, you take a part of them with you and leave a part of yourself behind."

I always wrote on my blog, any journey or relation in life should end with a 'Good-bye' and the word 'Good' really matters. I read the above and I could not think of a better beginning of my Farewell MessageJ

I am thoughtless and very emotional when I blog my Farewell Message to all my readers from Hyderabad. It is like from where to start and where to end. There are so many happy moments that I have spent in these 7 years.

The longest duration of my stay in India, is in Hyderabad. People wonder why a Punjabi girl takes so much interest in Telegana talks. They wonder why someone who should cherish paneer and dal makhani lives 5 days on sambar and vada. Why she loves to flaunt flowers on hair rather than diamonds on her fingers. The answer is I am Indian and the feel to be real Indian came to me in Hyderabad. I have seen the worst to best moments in this city. From a newlywed to a sponsored mother, my 7 years journey is full of love, happiness, struggle and learning.

From job to being jobless to a Freelancer, from mobile to partially immobile, from struggle to less struggle, from surgeries to doctors, from content management analyst to swimming coach to an artist, from emotions to realities, all BELONGS TO HYDERABAD!

From Sphoorti to my daughter, from tear to laugh, from real to virtual, from loneliness to crowd, all BELONGS TO HYDERABAD.

"Don't be dismayed at goodbyes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetime, is certain for those who are friends."

Hyderabad has given me so much that I cannot dedicate just a post for this contribution. It made me a completely different Archana. It showed me those doors that I could not have ever searched, if would have been somewhere elseJ. I thought to make a slide deck of my pictures of 7 years of journey but I realised it is like 198 pictures that I shortlistedJ, so a post is all time better to convey my thanks to all of you.

Thanks to my neighbours, my housekeeping people, my friends, Deloitte peers and last not the least my 92 kids at Sphoorti. A special thanks to my doctors and physiotherapists for making my life so easy and toughJ

Wishing You All A Very Great Life and Loads of Love

Will Miss Hyderabad(:....I am actually crying...GOSH!

"It's the emptiest and yet the fullest of all human messages: Good-bye."
